If I have a pint of water before bed then I get little sleep as I am up and down going wee all the time!

Damn my feeble bladder.

I'm the same Matt. I tend to get a bit tipsy during the day, then stop drinking much in the evening and switch to other things. That way I can have drinks of water or pop, but not too much, and not have to go for a wee every half hour!!

It's also why I favour spirits whilst on a wander, if I'm at camp I'll have a couple of cans but I just need to wee!!

In other, fingers toes and everything else, good news..........................

No ultrasound needed - yet or at all.

We paniced yesterday. We are having to closely monitor puss cats weight as he has had very bad fluid retention and the last week was his first off the tablets (he lost 1kg in a week while on them 5.15kg down to 4.15kg)...... yesterday it looked like he had gone up 0.5 kg in 3 days. We checked and double checked the scales.

Today I have weighed him 3 times and all three times he is stable at 4.32 kg which is loads better than we thought - huge phew..........

Blood tests next week though and weight monitoring every day til then as well!!

Bless him and love him (and his sister too :-) )

I compiled a list of acts I would like to see live who are on the lineup poster...........

and then went off to watch them live on youtube to see what I thought (I do thjis as in the past I have seen acts live who I liked and was very disappointed, eg Jake Bugg and Jamie T)

So what did I learn?

Well quite a lot - some I wondered about like Alabama Shakes (love their albums) and are no firmly on my 'must see live' list.

Others like Circa Waves I shall not be seeing live

I have a top three must see at GF - all of which I knew I wanted to see and seeing live clips has just made that desire 1000 time stronger.

In no particular order:

The MotherShip returns

Motorhead

Sleaford Mods

All praise the clash gods!

So my minds been wandering from glasto to other festivals today.....has anyone been to end of the road festival? And would you recommend it if you have?

OK, thurlow...

...give me a bullet point list of everything that is important to you about a festival. Give me a hierarchy of what things on that list are most important for you to have a mega festival.

I will then serve as your EOTR Appraisal Guide and we will determine its suitability to your needs.

:)

So im considering it because of when i takes place, i wouldnt mind seeing sufjan steven and its under 2 hours from my sisters so i could mix it up with family time too

what i want

* id prefer it to have a relaxed atmosphere, festivals are my escape from the real world

* friendly festival goers

* few different stages so you have a choice in who you see

im not that fussy really

Thanks for your help essay

My pleasure, thurlow.

So I have been to EOTR twice, both before and after the introduction of the Woods (new main) stage.

What you get:

- very knowledgable crowd who LOVE their music

- lots of folk, Americana, bit of psychedelia

- very relaxed atmosphere

- lots of space - it never feels too busy, though not too sparce to feel 'empty'. They had to close the (then main) Garden Stage when Fleet Foxes headlined in 2009 as it was at capcity. Not an issue now as the Woods Stage can accomodate more

- Four 'main' stages - two outdoor and two tented, including the Garden Stage, which has to be a contdender for the most beautiful outdoor festival stage. It is truly lovely in there.

- the sort of line-up that invariably allows you to find fantastic discoveries in the undercard

- BRILLIANT food stalls

- Quiet camping area - it's just not a rowdy festival

- Lots of decent cider and real ale (though not as much of the latter as at Green Man, I don't think)

- very happy festival goers; polite and considerate in the main.

What you don't get

- a lot of dickheads - the focus on music and the genres covered just doesn't really attract them. Occasional exception

- huge variety of late-night stuff. For me that's now the only drawback of EOTR. I am a massive fun of dancing like a loon to minimalist techno and the like until stupid o'clock, after a full day of bands. EOTR just falls a bit short. There is stuff to do until 3am-ish, including 'secret' (not very, actually) sets in the Tipi Stage at 1-3am which can be mega fun and feel very exclusive. Usually artists who have already played that day/weekend, sometimes collaborations between artists

So, it's really rather lovely, and needs doing once or twice. I would highly recommend it, especially if the headliners/top end does it for you. I saw Fleet Foxes and Explosions in the Sky first time, and Joanna Newson and Beirut second time. Which ain't shabby!

Personally, I would now forego it for something a bit more banging at night, but that's me...

Helpful? Hope so.

Hurrah for a well pussy

Jeffie - how is Mrs J? All good now I hope?

HTP -5 I would NEVER consider - have you read the side effects! Water, water water , natures remedy

Spoldge - what's your new van called?

Never been to EOTR Thurlow, but I can recommend Shambala which has a very laid back clientele , friendly fun during the day with a mix of stages, banging tunes at night if you want them and lots and lots of weirdness/randomness

Is Stevie's mate called Wonkey?

Evening all. Where the hell has the day gone?!? Have been visiting a friend who's brother passed away last week, v sad. Had colleague visit to relieve me of my dining table and chairs so I can purchase new furniture... Hopefully tomorrow. My kitchen looks like I've just moved in without it. My mum has rang to lend 10g!! Spent considerable time on the phone to her and stepdaddy. Now watching supervet and struggling to see the screen as I have w*t stuff in my eyes!
