Have any of you had experience of a cat having an Ultrasound?

We may have to go down that avenue soon but at nearly 17 years old it worries me - he certainly cannot have general anesthetic so would have to be held and I know that will panic him something rotten!

The £££ scares us too but it is available if we have to do it - but we just do not want him to suffer just to find out that he needs to have medication for life - which we pretty much already know bless him, thyroids, heart murmer and what the US is for, fluid retention in kidneys.

The worst thing is he is happier and bouncier than he has been in ages!

Not me, no. Poor kitty, I'd say go with what your vet says. Sorry I can't be of more help xx

Hi everyone

Not been posting much this weekend as super busy.

Apologies in advance for not being super up to speed with all that has been going on thread-wise!

Dee - lovely, exciting pictures, thank you. I upvoted your Peanuts cartoon too (my first upvote!) for two reasons. (1) it's just lovely, and so, so true and (2) in my formative years I had a very close relationship with all things Peanuts. I genuinely believe that the cartoons helped to shape my views on morals, people, relationships etc. So thank you for evoking some pretty wonderful childhood memories.

It's been pretty frantic at Ben Towers this weekend. Child 1 passed his driving test on Friday (YAY!) meaning that I am now looking down the barrel of ridiculously expensive car insurance (BOO!). Child 3 won his final rugby match of the season against the local rivals, which was mega! Child 2 has been working like a dog for her GCSEs, which makes me mucho proudios.

Weather here has been stunning. Went for a wonderful t-shirt and shorts walk with the dog ( I was wearing that combo, not her), a final farewell to her hair before she is brutally shorn tomorrow! If I can, I will post a pic of her sans hair.

Just catching up on all things forum, before an early night. It's my super busy week coming up, with on-call Friday through Monday. But, as said before, once I'm through that there's only one more weekend on duty before GF. Get, quite literally, in.

Ben

My cat was run over before christmas and had a long recovery which included scans/ultrasounds etc and he is an older cat, my vet gave him sedatives when possible he was ok. Hope your cat is ok (im a crazy cat lady, love them)

I have spent the last hour and 20 minutes glastobating with my glasto buddy. Top topic was shoes!! I hate wearing wellies all weekend but find them essential so not taking boots and gators, but it will be dry (and I have to take wellies to appease the weather gods), so what shoes to take for the glorious sunshine and stonebaked stony earth?!

I'm keeping the weather gods happy by just taking wellies again... :) I had a great half tan look to my legs last year from my knees upwards...was worth it just to get the weather gods to stop the r**n and ease the ES though!!

Maybe I'll take flip flops again but they're a nightmare ti keep on once the wine, gin or 'whatever' starts flowing xx

I always take flip flops just for around the tent at 6am before bed and 8am when I get up. Nice to air the feet. I have a feeling this year will be like 2010 so wellies will just not do... Tho I will take them!

I always take wellies, as I've never got on with boots and gaiters, always find some moisture manages to get in through eyelets or somewhere. I take good walking shoes for dry weather, as some of the stony paths can still slip if you haven't got a decent tread on your shoes.

One year I'm going to take a pedometer and see how far I actually walk each day. Must be loads because, despite the food and cider, I've still always lost weight when I get home each year!

Evening folks. I'm gin free so no ramblings. I'm actually just off to me bed. Sorry i haven't been in to post to keep the count and thread up but having had a blinding headache for the best part of a week i needed to take a break from staring at a screen.

Hope everyone is fab and lovely pics Dee. :)

Is that bar the one with all the lovely lights in it and serves Pimms by the railway track?

I was at Jazz Fest in New Orleans when it suddently r****d, 2005 amounts. I got caught in it partially but then took shelter in the Gospel tent. Not sure what gods everyone else in there was worshipping but I went in to appease the weather ones.

Glorious sunshine came out just as The Who played Baba O'Riley later in the day so I think it worked and it bodes well for Glasto.

    • Skylink is 24 hours... But the skylink will drop you off at Pegasus business Park or EMA (East Midlands Airport) where you'll have to use the Download shuttle link, which isn't 24 hours. The last shuttle from the Download transport hub to EMA is 12:15 TrentBarton / Local bus info here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/download2026   Skylink Derby / Leicester / Loughborough timetable here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/services/skylinkderby  Shuttle timetable here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/userfiles/hotel.pdf If you miss the shuttle, which is very doubtful, you'll just have to find another way to EMA / Pegasus business park, maybe a taxi. You could even walk to EMA from the Download transport hub, wouldn't take too long. Just make sure you use the airport's 'circular path' instead of the dangerous roads.  I walk the circular path often, it's nice and easy. I would post instructions but I very much doubt you'll miss the shuttle, and if you do, it isn't hard to work out. The footpath is clearly signposted from directly opposite / across the road from where the download map has labelled "Pickup and Drop Off Exit."
    • So for Harry Styles it was actually a plastic bag that basically blocks the view of the front and back cameras. You can still use the phone screen. It's much easier than using lockers, especially for people leaving for the last train etc    I think it's basically reliant on the threat of security kicking you out if you start filming.
    • Hey, does anybody have a joining link for the WhatsApp group plz? I know the secret sets get posted there but have a new phone and number
    • Do you think they'll release today's cupra pulse lineup?
    • I had a great time yesterday and came to the conclusion that everytime (or, more accurately, both times) I didn't have a great time at Primavera, it was water-related. Either there was too much of it (Thursday 2026) or there wasn't enough (Thursday 2022, week 1).
