So, risking the inevitable Finbarr, she came, she saw, she conquered, in the City of Love.

Mrs Ben knocked 15 minutes off her previous marathon time to finish in an AMAZING 4h40m22s.

I am now an expert on the city having traversed it by foot and (the superb) Metro several times. I managed to see her twice, miss her twice and then see her as she arrived at the Finish Line.

I am appropriately a very proud boy this evening. Glad it's all over, as it takes a hell of a lot of prep and commitment, but she really was fab.

Back in Blighty tomorrow...just two days from that elusive announcement, it seems - though that may all have changed by now...need to catch up with the other threads.

What a week!

I don't really know much about betting on the horses either. Fortunately it's not something I'm in to - I only normally bet on the Grand National and the Gold Cup. I didn't even bother with the Gold Cup this year either. I do have a bet riding on the Eurovision Song Contest this year. I know that my music credentials on this forum aren't exactly 'up there', but let me just hammer the last nail in the coffin by saying that I love the Eurovision Song Contest. I normally go around to a mates house and watch it there - it's become a kind of tradition. One time we watched it on mushrooms - that was a bit different I'll tell you.
