Pixies?

I didn't realise that they hadn't been back to Glastonbury since the reunion, a bit odd since they've now been reunited for longer than they were originally together, but a good way to make their return to Worthy Farm.

Fantastic performance but would've loved Monkey, Gigantic and Velouria.

I thought KimNotKimNotKim (replacement to KimNotKim) sounded very similar to Kim, so started to think they may have done those last two. Shame they didn't, but I've thankfully witnessed the real Deal (apols!) do them I can sleep happy anyway.

Bloody brilliant. One of the highlights for me, alongside Interpol and Arcade Fire.

They've totally still got it, his voice is immense and Joey Santiago continues to spit wonderful twisted sonic fury from the guitar. He is one of my favourite guitarists, and for me they're one of the best bands in the world today. Shame Bugg got to do the headline set, really, as I'd have happily stayed for another hour of Pixies.

Brilliant set and performance! Really loved it

Only bad thing was when on the way back, walked past these two guys propping their mate up while he had his todger out going for a piss right in the middle of the field in front of everybody. Disgusting.

I just watched the bbc footage of this and they completely buggered the sound. Was really looking forward to rewatching it as they sounded brilliant, but joeys guitar and franks mic are waaaay too loud, with the bass and drums really quiet, and can barely hear the crowd singing along.

    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
    • Dream Blink day    Blink - Turnstile - Neck Deep - The Story So Far
    • The vibe for Avalanches was spectacular, but i totally understand not wanting to wait in a queue for however long it was.   I had to miss Ethel Cain to queue. Bit annoying, but I had never seen the Avalanches before (either live or DJ set) and it was every bit as joyful as I hoped.   Great little stage, either way.
    • The Smashing Pumpkins are also a shout
