Ticket lost in the post....I'm scared

Good morning campers,

Er, my excitement has wained a touch as my girlfriend's ticket is missing in the post - it was sent by my friend on 7th June, Special Delivery Guaranteed Next Day, I've tracked it using the number and it brings up the following

Status: It's on its way

Item AE*********GB was posted at JCR News BA2 3AQ on 07/06/14 and is being progressed through our network for delivery.

Obviously it's now over a week later and we're pretty worried it's not coming at all - does anyone have any experience of tickets lost in the post and what you can do about it - obviously we can get compensation from Royal Mail so there's no chance of being out of pocket but my girlfriend would rather have her ticket than the money

How does Glastonbury handle stuff like this?

We're slightly panicky right now but panic levels are definitely increasing....

Looking at the http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails site it seems its only showing a scan at the post office where it was sent. Might be worth your friend going in and seeing if its still there somewhere.

I posted some tickets out special delivery before, and I kept tracking them to make sure the othe person got them and I kept receiving the same message about still being at the post office. About a week later I got a message off the guy saying the ticket had came yet Royal Mail still said it was at my local post office... I wouldn't rely on the tracking service

Yeah it won't be See's responsibility sadly. I've contacted the Glastonbury office - more in hope than anything - to see if there's anything we can do, we're opening a case with Royal Mail and my mate is going to wander in to where it was posted to see if it's there - however, I'm pretty sure at this stage this will put paid to my girlfriend's attendance which is pretty depressing

I'm pretty sure you can sort it on the gate if you contact them in advance. My wristband came off/got lost one year but I went over there and it took about half an hour but they found me on the system and gave me another one (I also showed my ticket). Not the same thing but I'm pretty sure they can be reasonable in cases like this (you obviously need to get this flagged in advance and go to work on the post office though!).

I had a similar situation a few years back, I left a job and forgot to hand in the keys so I posted them next day tracker. Told old company what I did gave them the tracking number etc. A few days later still no keys. I called royal mail got told have to wait 10 days informed my old company of this.

Old company weren't happy and I was getting emails on a daily basis "Still no keys" Tracker more or less said same as yours. I think it was day 7 or 8 the keys appeared in my old companies letter box!

Keep the faith they will "appear" I'd go to where they where posted and ask them to have a look etc

Oh God - worse news, Glastonbury replied to my email:

Unfortunately Glastonbury tickets cannot be reprinted. If tickets are delivered to ticket holders, and subsequently lost they cannot be replaced. So it’s best to be in contact with Royal Mail for them to trace it.

Best wishes,

Glastonbury Festival

Good luck with this - at least the tracker isn't saying it is delivered. Royal Mail are now allowed to deliver signed for packages to neighbours without your permission, so keep an eye on that tracker. I found this out to my peril, thankfully not with my glastonbury tickets, but still.

Keeping all my fingers crossed for you.

Don't trust what the royal mail say on the phone, the best thing would be for you girlfriend to go to her local delivery office collection counter with some photo ID and the tracking number and get them to check it's not being held there. They could have tried to deliver it and forgot to leave a card/put card in the wrong door and then not scanned the item properly. It happens all the the time the item and the item will just sit there for 18 days waiting for collection before they return it to sender. Insist they physical check for it and not just look on the system. Would be best to do this in the daytime when its quiet as if its busy she might get fobbed off.

yeah that's the next option - Royal Mail won't investigate until Tuesday 24th once it has been missing for ten working days. Obviously by then it's too late so effectively we're screwed.

Out of spite/fury I really want to generate some kind of anti-Royal Mail Twitter campaign with an enormous reach but I wouldn't know where to start

    • I saw that the payment method is contactless wristbands - I understand you collect them at the festival site and can top them up there as well? Yes, there are top up points, keep the recepe if you want to withdraw the money in the end   How much does food and drink usually cost at the festival? We would like to know how much money we should prepare for the festival. Beer, Wine etc. 5€, Gin tonic, Whishkey Cola were 6-6.5€, food 10€    Is there a bus from the festival site to the city center? And are there any stops along the way? No offical info yet, but ussualy there are free festival buses from Ljubljanica to festival site, with few stops on the way. Nice to get to the festival but crowded from festival back to the city.   Where is the best place to find an Uber/Bolt to return from the festival site? Petrine ulica   Are there any shaded areas to take a break from the strong sun? Yes, i think there is some.
