Packing Order?!?!

Right so going to start packing soon, in 2010 I took a fishing barrow and WAAAAYYY to much stuff so this time I've bought a rucksack which doesn't have many external pockets so it's all got be packed in the main area and was wondering if there's an order in which to pack that would make accessing stuff easier? Any do's and dont's that you've come across in your years of experience?

1. line bag with bin bag in case of rain

2. heaviest shit near the bottom

3. doesn't matter you should turf it all out into a big mess the moment you're camped up anyway

4. one side pocket for ticket related bits, the other for food and water - don't risk tugging the ticket out grabbing a snack, seen it happen too often

that's it, no real science to it like hardcore camping/hiking

Cram everything in, in the order you think about it.

When your tent is up (remember to pack your tent) empty contents of bag within said tent.

If you've forgotten anything you probably won't need it. If you do need it, fashion it out of twigs.

If you're going by coach then you are slightly restricted. If driving It depends on how many times you are prepared to walk back to car etc. We've got a trolly and plenty of bungee cords. I am taking my whole summer wardrobe, just dont tell my nearly husband as he will be pushing the trolly.

    • On the Wet Leg crowd - the opening day always has the worst crowd of the festival. A lot of locals show up purely because it's a cheap evening, often with not much interest in the acts performing, so, while the talking is an issue throughout the festival (and increasingly at gigs/fests everywhere) it's particularly rough on the Wednesday every year. I'll only bother next year if I really like the act playing.  The wristband is basically a souvenir these days, which I like, as I keep them. Also I guess for the festival it's kind of cheap advertising as people walk around the city with them on.
    • Hoping the day splits will be included with whatever the secret is.
    • They will search bags going from the campsite into the festival site. How thoroughly they do that varies greatly from one security person to the next. If they find any cans they probably won't confiscate them, but more likely they'll offer you the option of drinking them there and then or taking them back to the campsite
