what to do / see on Wednesday ?

Haven't looked at the schedule (to be honest it wouldn't mean anything to me anyway as I doubt I'd recognise anyone!) but your best bet is just to wander, you'll definitely find something good

Interestingly there's another thread about Bruce wanting to drive along the railway, but to the point it says the licence has been changed to allow 'soft' entertainment on Weds like there has been on Thursday, but I guess that's obvious given there's a lineup. Sorry I'm rambling aren't I...

Generally get slaughtered, annoy the wife, she's pissed at me for the rest of the festival, and I spend the time making it up to her, and miss the bands I want to see and take her to the ones she likes, constantly being reminded of my Wednesday behaviour.

I don't neccesarily recommend going to Bars on the Wednesday. They are often rammed and you don't want to spank your balance on the first night by buying pricey drinks from the bar :) I made the mistake of spending pretty much the entire Wednesday evening in 2011 sat down at a bar with my friends and once we hit a certain point we started buying rounds of shots and got wayyyy too drunk without really doing anything. In retrospect I preferred the 2009 evening I had which was me drifting around in awe of how pretty everything looked at night and slowly sipped on my hipflask as I did so, got a warm drunk buzz but nothing too heavy and it's firmly stored in the positive memories part of my brain.

It also left me in good shape for the Thursday.

A nice base level of drunk all day is my ambition - for every day, not just Wednesday - I don't want to peak and then have to recover, I wanna be merry for the duration.

This does take planning however. And practice. And not a little skill. Thank god I'm a prepared man when it comes to drinking

I may be wrong but on the Wednesday the last couple of years there's been a wickerman burning around the stone circle with a load of fireworks going off which is pretty cool.

I think I'm not making it up, but by that point on Wednesday I'm usually a mess so if anyone can confirm it that would be good :P

    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
