I made some werthers vodka this year. 2 big bags per big bottle. crushed them up and they dissolve quick enough. Would avoid using the cheapest nastiest vodka though, maybe go for the second nastiest. It tastes nice but still has that rank vodka aftertaste otherwise

I did bacon last year. It was awesome. Especially in my morning bloody Marys.

Glacier mint was lovely too and not at all like mouthwash as other mints can be.

i bought a big bottle of good vodka the other day and am now massively considering bacon-ing it up. did bloody marys last year, but with bacon vodka it sounds even better

If you get bacon wrong, as one of our group did last year, it's one of the grimmest things ever. The little white globules of fat floating around in it.... at least half our group nearly threw up when they tried that one!

Another friend did Garlic and Chilli one year. Would think it would taste great in a bloody mary. On it's own. Not so good.

  • 11 months later...

sherbert lemon, cherry drop and raspberry bootlace have been my favourites so far, ok to drink neat but mix really well with lemonade or 7up. The raspberry bootlace takes a little more work as you need to strain it as the bootlaces don't dissolve properly but it's vibrant blue colour (think blue raspberry slush puppy) is fab!

Did the Werthers Originals vodka last year, an idea I borrowed from here. Most who tried it liked it. Our Glasto neighbours had some skittles vodka, can't remember what colour but I enjoyed that. This year will mostly be mixing vodka with oj in 50cl plastic bottles to freeze as these went down really well in the mornings and also helped to keep the beers in the cooler bag cooler.

Brought mine and mixed it this evening! Gone for Mars Bar and also Glazed Doughnut (we shall see how this turns out)

Edit: Two different vodkas, not mars and glazed doughnut together =p

    • You do get some weird swings here and there, so... Cypress Hill?
    • It was great, but I don't know why they continue to play Wide Lovely Eyes and Rings of Saturn, which are the weakest of the tracks off both PTSA and ST. Well, I do. It's cos they're about Suzie, so he can sing what he wants. They're the low points of the set. The rest is ace.
    • I didn't this time, but I've seen them before and just because you saw both that night doesn’t mean you can compare them. The Stones were great, but.you didn't think so and you went somewhere else looking for a good time and you found it. For whatever reason you didn't like it, but you were an outlier and all the reviews said they were great.
    • Annie Lennox could be the one to unite the whole forum, nobody has a bad word to say about her, even noted curmudgeon Skip 😄 I'd probably even amble along for a bit meself, and i'm also a miserable sod
    • If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27, or that's what I've been told. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, i.e a verbal agreement for 2028, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
