Dreaming about glasto

Each time I have remembered a dream over the last month or so - I think 5 or 6 times, it has been about going. As I haven't been before, the scale is a little patchy. I reckon this shows that I am thinking about it pretty much every waking moment.

If you wanna know, I got on stage with the orb, I was looking for the green fields 5 am Sunday and pj Harvey was down to headline the following year

The amount of vivid Glastonbury dreams I've had in the last few weeks has been crazy, sitting up at the stone circles, waiting for bands to come on the pyramid stage and dreams of just general bimbling around.

The crazy thing about the dreams has been the fact that all the people I'm going with have been in them all.

Has started for me too. Still having other dreams, but woken up several times confused that it's quiet and I'm not under canvas

Mostly nighttime stuff making my way past excited people, nice buzz :)

Just last night I dreamed that I had a work meeting. Went for a wander at lunchtime and discovered that we were meeting right next to gate D?

Don't ask.....

Woke up from a horrible nightmare this morning - to get tickets you had to register online but on ticket day you had to queue at a desk. I was near the front of the queue but when I got to the front realised I had been disorganised and not got my registration number ready, couldn't get the email with it it load on my phone, and while I was faffing about they sold out.

Just hideous. Woke in a cold sweat.

The other night I dreamt we missed our coach, and for some reason our only option was to get a taxi down on the sunday and arrive at 6pm. And when we finally got there all I did was look for a toilet while my friend shopped for postcards...

I've had a few Glasto dreams in the past. Most recently that Dolly Parton was playing on the pyramid (which was actually a village hall style set up with tables and chairs?!) And she was having sounds issues and no-one could hear her.

Also dreamt I hadn't paid the balance off and woke up terrified and had to check see tickets tracker to reassure myself. That was so real.

Whenever I dream of Glasto...why does it never look anything like it does in real life?

I have a recurring nightmare maybe once a fortnight where I am in the queue just about to get the wristband put on and I suddenly realise I have got nothing with me at all. No tent, no bag of clothes, no money, nothing! I consider running back to the car and driving home to get my stuff and one occasion I did just that and ended up missing the entire festival. Most times I go strait in and can't find any of my mates and ring them until my phone dies. The festival site is also not very accurate either (there are old buildings everywhere) and I spend most of the dream running through crowds to find my group. When I wake up my missus offers little in the way of comfort as she absolutely hates the fact I love Glastonbury so much and thinks it's just about sitting in a tent for a week in the mud. Every time I mention it (which is at least a couple of times a day) she does the old roll of the eyes as if to say, here he goes again. She refuses to come point blank which is her loss! I'm glad to read that others have these dreams anyway as I just put it down to my obsession

The whole, not having a tent, or waterproofs, or Wellies, is very familiar - that happens a lot in my Glastonbury dreams. The other one is going round and round the outside of the site, before coming in through a gate where I don't recognise anything. Then I will usually arrive at a stage to find everything is finishing.....and I mean everything.

My favourite though, was the one where I found my camping spot, only to realise I had no tent, so I tried to mark my spot with my socks whilst I went to get it. I also had one where Glasvegas were on The Other Stage really early in the festival, before we were expecting anything to be on. So we went to see what was happening, and the lead singer stopped at the end of his song, pulled up a chair, and asked the audience to critique it.

Oddly, this year we have given Glastonbury a miss in order to afford a month in Australia. Last night I dreamt I was in Australia, but every time we tried to go to the beach, something happened so that we didn't get there, and at the end of the dream, I was just walking past rows and rows of very ordinary looking flats on the way to Manly beach thinking, the sun will have gone in before we get there AGAIN.

So my Glastonbury anxiety dream has managed to transfer itself, which is interesting.

Over the weekend I had an odd dream that we was really late at getting there and missed Friday and that Mumford and Sons happened to be headlining. Saying that, the Pyramid Stage was the only thing related to Glastonbury - everything else was a made up festival, but it did look pretty cool. I had to check the line-up when I got up just to make sure...

    • It's a smart move because week after 5 fests already confirmed: Download (not officially), Nova Rock, Greenfield, Mystic, Sweden Rock
    • Oh I 100% agree and I'm questioning a lot.
    • That would be a day ticket for Friday going based on that. In 2027 that would suck for me lol.
    • And it's been moved forward a week, same weekend as RaR
