My dad once phoned me to say he had a problem with his new printer, it wasn't printing out correctly.

Turned out he was looking at his document at 250% magnification on a 22" monitor, and thought it would print out like that...

Bless.

People tempted to use multiple tabs.....don't! See tickets/glastonbury advise against it.....

Attempting to book tickets online using multiple browser tabs can confuse the ticket sales process and cause your transaction to fail. We strongly advise that you use just one single browser tab when trying to book tickets, in order to avoid possible problems with your transaction.

+1 for using multiple browsers, in recent years though Chrome has been the way forward for me. In addition to Chrome, I always have Firefox, Internet Explorer (god forbid that ever works...) and one other, something like Safari running.

Good luck all if you're going for it tonight :)

I'd even go as far as recommending multiple browsers as well as multiple tabs. You're not guaranteed to have different sessions, even if you're using a different window. You might do, but it's safer to go for a different browser altogether.

If you don't have multiple browsers, go install some! Firefox, Opera, Chrome, IE (latest version) are all fine.

Just use a single browser + tab on your tablet/phone though. They work differently with regards to multi-tasking. I.e., they wont be loading in the background.

With respect, you are assuming that to be the case based on having some luck of your own. You are hinting that Glastonbury Official are being deceitful regarding the possibility of multiple tabs messing up your booking, when there have been plenty of stories here and around the web as a whole to suggest that their advice is correct.

If you choose to go against that advice. That's people's choice of course.

They don't all sync up though, I get different results from different tabs but when one gets through I often find the other tabs get through as well. So I leave those spare tabs with the page open to avoid a step in the process.

Also a benefit

I had up to 20 'enter credit card detail' pages on the original sale up and if one failed I just moved onto the next one whilst trying to reload the credit card form on the other one. This meant I had 20x more chances to get through on the 2nd step then a person who had one tab. Sure they could've got through first try BUT their chances were equal to mine and I had 19 other shots at it whilst he had to try and get the form back up.

In the mean time I was trying to get the form back up on those tabs that failed meaning I had a whole other load racked up and ready to go by the time I tried the other 19 pages.

I was putting all my efforts into chrome / fire fox and safari in october and had an IE window open in the background which I left to refresh itself. Low and behold if that window didn't spring up with a booking page all by itselt.... I didn't see it for a few seconds as I was hammering F5 on the others. Good old IE.

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
