What about Field Day? Metronomy, Pixies, Warpaint and a fair few more...

Looks nice but no camping.

Ah okay. All the Field Day bands will probably be at Glastonbury if you can be arsed trying your hand in the resales.

Won't Northside rule those bands out of Roskilde?

Anyone spotted the Hellfest lineup on the international section? Pretty impressive.

So where are people looking as alternatives? Latitude? Bestival? Sonisphere? Abroad? Small fests?

I remember going to Werchter in '08 and it costing less than doing Reading in '07, inc. transport and a hotel in Brussels the night before and after. Not sure if they still do the "free travel within Belgium with a ticket" thing though. It certainly made a difference.

Fests like that always cause problems for me- I like your Sabbaths and your Soundgardens but most of the rest of the line-up is pretty w*nky & too heavy for me...

Yeah I think they do still do that.

I'd quite like to interrail like I did last summer, so might look to combine that with a fest.

Yellow_Fellow got into Truck last year so their standards can't be that high, just write some nice stuff about them in the run-up and tweet them the links.
