Nope.

Glastonbury has no arena. The camping and stages are all inside the one fence.

you can in theory take as much booze as you want to, tho they are seemingly trying to lessen the amount that some people take because some people take trolley loads of the stuff.

How are you getting down? We stop at Asda on the outskirts of Bristol to pick up last minute supplies.

I've booked a coach package, from Bristol. was thinking of flying to Bristol (maybe the overnight bus from glasgow) but i've been warned to not have too much stuff going on the coach.

Plenty of places to pick up booze in Bristol. We meet up with friends in Glasgow and hire a couple of mini buses.

Surely you'd be alright taking one crate of beer and some spirits (decanted into plastic bottles of course) onto the coach.

If you want to leave the site once you're camped and go to buy booze you could get the shuttle bus to Shepton Mallet or Glastonbury town for the supermarkets. It'll take a while to get out and back in again but when beers on site are £4+ a pint, it's worth the effort!

Remember if you buy glass bottles of spirits on your travels you'll also need to buy some cheap lemonade or water so you can ditch (or drink) the contents and decant your spirits into plastic - no glass allowed on site.

If you're staying offsite the same rules apply as if you're staying onsite, i.e. you can bring alcohol for personal consumption, and no glass at all. Last year there was a bonkers email about no alcohol being carried on trolleys (!) which was quickly and quietly refuted by Michael - but basically it's to stop people bringing entire sacktrucks of cans that they then sell (against licence rules) or worse, leave behind.

I reckon you'd be okay if you took some big bottles of spirits and a couple of crates if you can fit everything (inc. tent and bag and stuff) on one trolley, that should be okay.

I stayed off site this year and would take a bag full of drinks each day, they're fine with that.

being allowed in with your own drink must make the on site bars quiet eh?

No the bars are stil busy - we mix and match with our own vs bars. Obviously you cannot drink your own booze in a bar , but your own is great for wandering, infront of stages etc etc

the bars are brilliant for different entertainment/atmosphere/cider/beer .... anything else

Getting in out of Glastonbury festival and into Glastonbury town on a Thursday afternoon and during the festival wouldn't be to difficult. We usually arrive around 3pm and traffic is fairly low due to most people having already arrived on site. There are a number of supermarkets on the outskirts of town with probably Morrisons being the closest. It's probably only a 3 or 4 mile journey so not to far. Hope this helps!!!

Going out to buy something wouldn't be too much trouble, but remember you will have to carry it all to your tent which can sometimes be an epic walk!

Also bear in mind that when push comes to shove you may not actually want to leave the site, the Wednesday and Thursday are probably my favourite bit of the festival.

yeah, I've been to T in the Park and it's a fair hike from the car park to the campsite, and I'm getting too old for that shit !!

saw someone there 2 years ago carrying a sledge, asked her why and she said "I was told to bring a sledge"

theres only 2 of us going to glasto, probably train to glasgow, megabus to Bristol & coach from Bristol so I'm gonna travel light, look out for me tho, and give us a hand
