Wasn't it mid March last year, doesn't seem five minutes since the Mumford announcement

It dosent take an expert to realise that this year isn't down as they expected. There is so much less hype in comparison to last year, it's even reflected on the activity in these line up threads.

I'm sure the third announcement last year took the line up right up to the first poster with day splits, I may be wrong though

Surely day tickets being reduced and announcements being brought forward only means that sales are not very good this year? Weekend tickets have been on sale since the start so cant reduce them to attract more, day tickets the only option with perhaps a change of acts?

We can speculate on that but chances are they don't expect heavy volumes of ticket sales before the main body of the announcement is out. Perhaps they just don't want to be left trailing V and T and are in a position to announce sooner.

Its basic economics, supply is outweighing demand? its about a 40% reduction. Furthermore if you look at social media the activity is no were near the amount it was last year. If your ignoring what's in front of you then that's just naive. Edited February 21, 2015 by GodlikeYeezus

Isnt T a much smaller festival than Reading though?

I don't see there being less hype than last year. People don't seem as keen for the headliners but the hype still seems there to me

There was always going to be less hype this year because there is no arctic monkeys. Really think their crazy popularity was a massive reason last year reading was such a popular festival. Then this year we get Metallica as our first headliner which won't appeal to the majority of those AM fans

The Reading/Leeds twitter tweeted a quote at 17:30 which was something about the headliner had just woken up, saw a lot of people saying that its a clue. Hoping for someone better than the last 2 headliners if im honest.
