Lineup 2015

Recommended Posts

No they didn't, technically, but Kanye did join Jay-Z at Hackney for a few WTT songs which means it's not entirely impossible. If they booked someone like Foals/The Vaccines to headline one of the other nights they might be able to afford it. Not gonna happen so I don't why I'm justifying it :P but it'd definitely be an interesting booking

That's why I used the words "intending" and "at some point" rather than "they are" and "next year"

I wasn't talking specifically about you, but alot of webpages/articles/media outlets seem to be convinced it's happening. But there's not been any proof of it... they haven't even mentioned a second album but I just guess alot of people assume it's gonna happen.

Jay-Z - "We don't have any dates lined out for it, but we definitely spoke about dropping solo albums and then going back to do Watch the Throne 2, so we'll see what happens,"

The producer on the first album also said he'd signed on to do WTT2, and then tweeted this last year https://twitter.com/therealmikedean/status/352944953321721856

Obviously if it's happening though, it's not happening quickly, but there's enough there to assume it might happen

This was quite a while ago though wasn't it, and we really haven't heard anything from it since. So for all we know it could have been canned or delayed until further notice.

Well Kanye hasn't spoken about it, and I doubt he's going to be working on it this year as he's got his own material to finish and release.

Jesus christ, that's not my point. You said that there was no proof of it, that no one had even mentioned it, and that assuming it would happen is wrong. All of that is wrong regardless of whether it's happening this year, next year or in 10 bloody years.

The thing with Jay-Z is there are a lot of UK fests where it would make more sense for him to play. Whilst I'm not saying he wouldn't play R&L, fests like V, Wireless, Glasto, Isle of Wight, T, even Bestival (although he's probably too big for that) would be a better fit.

Same goes for Europe and touring schedules- there aren't many festivals that he'd suit in the later part of the summer.

I'm too tired for recall but whoever suggested a Libertines/ Black Keys co-headliner is a god amongst paupers in my book (not calling people on here paupers it's a saying so chill).

Never found the chance to see Pete 'n' Carl and I for one enjoyed Turn Blue so both bands would be a good booking for me.

Think a Foals/ Black Keys is more likely though. Foals should step up after Holy Fire's epicness and a new record on the agenda.

    • If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
