Depending on how trustworthy he is to you,

1. No Kanye West, Jay-Z, or Beyonce for next year.

2. Co-headliners could be the thing for R+L in every single year.

3. He was not panicked at the power cut.

It's NME and Melvin Benn, possibly the least trustworthy combination out there.

Plus why the fuck would it ever be Beyonce?

Like all that shade Homme threw at Axl in 2010? Nah mate. Doesn't happen*

*happened once, during SFTD

Josh Homme isn't nearly as much of a pedantic, vindictive, nasty little prick as Jack White. We're talking about a guy who tried to force his ex-wife to change their kid's school just because Dan Auerbach's kids also went there.

Yeah. Say if someone was to look into that quote and narrow that down to a shortlist of Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, The Killers, Kings of Leon, Linkin Park and Pearl Jam with a few rank outsiders (like even less likely than The Killers) not currently worth mentioning, who would people think?

Hypothetically.

Yeah I know, but as usual define regular. I'm sure he'd be happy making a case that Linkin Park and Pearl Jam aren't regular if it meant he could try and make it sound like a more exciting booking.

I know. It's all just speculation though. Better to have something like this or people start thinking Beyoncé and 30STM are gonna headline.

Surely if a band released an album last year and it didn't get top 10; they're close to not being headliner material?

I think it was more that the band released an album in the past year rather than the placing.

Yep, so what it basically means is that one of the headliners has released an album in the last year or so. Techinically it could have beeen released more than a year ago but still in the top 10 (top 10 what? Who the fuck knows) in the last year.

Another masterclass in saying something and yet absolutely nothing at the same time.

I hate commenting on what Melvin says, but could the "decide which day they do reading and which day they do leeds" mean that they are probably playing Rock En Seine.

A very interesting point. Congratulations on breaking your duck.

    • I really like the Cheap Thrills! I saw them at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester in January at one of Chris Hawkins' "Awesome Friends" nights (which i think is why I even got tickets as it wasn't listed as a Cheap Thrills show!). Very good live and some great songs. I would've gone Saturday if I'd planned ahead!
    • They also seem to be in a mission to break the US with their new major label and this latest LP   Mid afternoon, live streamed on Disney+ is arguably a much bigger gig than Kendal Calling, if they had to skip one
    • This is massively exciting. I've been curious to who will be provide vocals for their live show and this is mega!
    • Seems to be getting reported as his only headline show in UK, I would say he's probably out BST now but can be on the Sunday teatime glasto slot or something
