I ate pretty much spot on food all week, however, I couldn't help feeling hard done by after making a purchase at the Haloumi spot on the corner of the Pyramid. The big cone which I thought was filled with cheese was actually a salad wrap with about 5 bits of cheese cleverly laid on top.

The Pyramid stage is usually full of your usual shit in the tray merchants but I thought there was some great stuff this year.

I ate pretty well but there were two meals I wish I hadn't had. Not because they were bad but because they were just the wrong choice.

One was tapas. Great food but the pasta was SO pesto-y and I just didn't enjoy it.

Second was a tajine I think by the Other stage or something. It was meant to be lamb but was basically tasteless mince bulked out with a shitload of cous cous. Not worth the cash.

The Ostrich Burgers by the pyramid were quite dry too but no sauces

Did anybody notice people charging for ketchup etc? I had Huevos Rancheroes with no cheese, no guac, no sour cream. All of which were £2 on top!

Thought the Ostrich burgers were alright, not a favourite though.

Two bad experiences in a row really! Found an indoor restaurant on the Wednesday, which looked like it was the same company who were in charge of the Buffalo/Crocodile etc. van. When it pissed down on the Thursday night, there was no better place to go! However, later discovered the restaurant sold crap, small portions of Japanese food for £10. Was absolutely terrible but hey ho.

Friday morning, cold Bacon roll from a stall for £4 I believe. Combined with finding out the Other stage guest was Beady Eye, it wasn't the best start to the festival :sarcastic: Thanfully, it was all uphill from there. Notably, ate in some awesome Caribbean restaurant which sold big plates of food for £5.

Mostly ate good stuff but stupidly went to a fish and chips van in Silver Hayes after Pheonix (Was hungry and just before I had dashed down to West Holts to find grillstock already closed!). Fucking shite stuff, tasted absolutely guff.

I didn;t think much of the dirty burger bar for the money either, it was nice enough and better than most burger vans you see around but still a rip off compared to the better places

Did anyone notice how pretty much every food stall became a crap breakfast bar on the Monday morning? I had the worst sausage sandwich I have ever had (and I've had a lot of sausage sandwiches) from place near the Other Stage that had covered its sign over and was clearly trying to rake as much in from people as poissible before they left.

Other than that, great food. The Grande Bouffe rules!

i thought there was quite alot of dodgy stalls this year, and as a thread up above said certainly wasnt service with a smile :( but the indian place facing the village in was disgusting paid £4 for a samosa and bhagi which am sure was stuffed with newspaper and coloured brown, over all the food was way to expensive this year i know its gone up but come on some were 8 & 9 pound and the portions a lot smaller, so i stayed with the good old rugby tor wraps and welsh oggies, oh and £3.50 for a chocolate muffin really beggers belief.

I didn't try one of those burgers as after watching some people walking away with one it didn't look anything special, but it got me thinking why there isn't a vendor who does proper Meat Liquor style dirty burgers on site? Perhaps this is what that place was trying to be but it didn't look it

After a lot of recommendations on the forum I tried the Roaming Rotisserie and was very disapointed. The portions were good with quite a large half chicken and the potatoes were lovely, but the chicken was really cold and not particularly tasty. I suppose I was unlucky and should have took it back.

Not bad food as such, but on Sunday morning I really wanted a bacon and egg bap, and the Hall's Dorset Smokery place was SO SLOW that I gave up and went to Fluffy Rock Cafe for an egg bap - queue twice as long but service (with a smile) twice as quick.

Smokin Wraps in Silver Hayes on Sunday late afternoon. Not a bad bacon and haloumi wrap but I waited half an hour after ordering (was told 2 minutes) then they brought me the wrong one. The girl was apologetic but when I suggested a discount or free side order she looked like I'd asked to shit in her mouth.

Avoid.

Got hungry again an hour later so queued for a curry and found there to be no meat once I reached the front. Bought a nice but not filling curry, looked at my mates' jerk chicken and meatball subs with envy.

Had my annual aussie steak sandwich but I was so smashed I forgot the experience immediately.

Othwerwise a successful weekend.

I had a pulled pork roll at the other stage, that was rubbish. And a Mexican Thursday night which I bought from the late night area which I cant really remember the taste of, but it did make me shit about 4 times the following day.

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
