Got a few coming up before I can get too excited for Glasto, got a run of Glasvegas, Jagwar Ma and Temples on Weds, Thurs, Fri all at the same venue.

Then the Tuesday evening before I leave I'm at The Courteeners pre-Glasto show at the Academy in Liverpool.

yeh, he is truly sensational. It's even more brill now they've ditched the saxaphone and brought in the violin I reckon

every time I see him I vow it will be the last time due to the horrific ticket prices....then he does another tour....I'll be bankrupt if he lives to 90 and carries on touring!

Yeah it is bloody expensive! That's what stopped me this time. The man's unstoppable though, he's announced a date in September too!

Ticket prices are getting insane. Was thinking of getting tickets for Bjork at Ally Pally until I found out it was £80+ a ticket! For Ally Pally! FFS.

I saw Johnny Marr a couple of weeks ago. He was great and got me right in the mood for more live music.

I'm jealous of you going to Leonard Cohen! I foolishly missed him at Glasto before, and have never forgiven myself!

Been a bit sparse Gig-wise recently. Saw some local bands about a month ago (Section 60 & The Sherlocks) which was good. Also going to Mosborough Music Festival this Sunday as it's round the corner from where I live. Planning on seeing The Bedroom Hour, The Darlingtons and Paul Heaton.

Jimmy Cliff is also playing in Sheffield the Monday before Glasto. It's not sold out. So tempted, but the wife would probably kill me. Live music and drinking all day Sunday, Monday night and then driving the Glasto for the best part of a week on Tuesday. There aren't enough brownie points in the world for that!

Saw Neil Young last night and am seeing These New Puritans tomorrow.

I somewhat reluctatntly bought tickets for Bjork at Ally Pally. It was my birthday last week, so I tried to justify it as a present to myself. Plus she's always incredible live, so even though it's Ally Pally I know it'll be worth it

Glasvegas were good last night, I honestly believe they're a step above many of the bands that came from the same landfill indie era. They have some brilliant songs.

Jagwar Ma tonight, I loved half of their album and am on the fence for the rest so hopefully seeing them live will make it click for me.

That's the first time I've her live and it exceeded expectations which were already pretty high, based on reports from anyone who has seen her live. (I think Goldfrapp might struggle to make such an impression this weekend!)

Yes - it's a shame PS won't be at Glastonbury, though cutting that 2 hour set by half would be tricky. Great night.

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
