yeah if they were putting out stuff that merited it at the time, fair enough to get big slots! my point was that they've kept getting big slots since the OBTN-era because of Sex on Fire, despite releasing fuck all of note since then.. likewise Bastille's output as a whole is probably popular enough right now to play third or fourth down at V, but even if their actual output falls of a cliff I can see them getting good slots because of Pompeii for years to come.

Kings of Leon are an impeccable live band, so comparing them to The Script is just.. No.

I think you will find a few disagreeing with you on this comment, I finally managed to catch them last year and were ok.

Nothing more, not great but not rubbish.

Bastille, The 1975 and even the likes of Rudimental are all ok but should not be 3rd up at major festivals in my opinion. So both The 1975 and Rudimental both 3rd at IOW shocks me a little and of course shows i know fuck all! And because of that i suddenly have no doubt that Bastille will be 3rd at V.

For me i class bands such as The Vaccines and TDCC for that sort of position at the moment (although i could see both subbing off the back of new albums).

Agreed they shouldnt be 3rd at a major festival, but without a big push by someone they may not reach some people. TDCC and Vaccines did well in the 4th slot, so Bastille could do that but I dont think the 1975 could. Rudimental would be better or MTV stage but later on than they were last year, maybe subbing or 3rd. Dont know who would play 3rd at V this year though, as I would expect someone bigger than Bastille or Rudimental

I think you are being too optimistic tbh third would be about right for both of them

just hope them toilets get in my way Daniel. Christ in that position they will never get cleaned

I know them toilets would be packed if Coldplay did play.

It might not be them, I just hope they arent doing T with T having their announcement today and that could tie in with the song release

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
