2014

I'd say Everything Everything and Eels are the only two that wouldn't be played on Capital.

My main issue with V is that the second stage (Channel 4) is a festering pit of interbred chavs who try and mosh at anything (Jamie T- Stella was particularly standout), and that is slowly becoming the same for the main stage. I think my first ever V the main stage headliners were Radiohead and Morrisey and the Channel 4 stage headliners were Razorlight and The Charlatans; Completely unheard of these days.

Opinions!!!

Laura Mvula? Lianne La Havas? Basement Jaxx? Everything Everything? Eels? If their tracks got played on Capital in 2014 they'd be interrupted halfway through by the producers thanks to the sheer weight of "omfg who iz diss I ent herd diss song covered on X Facta" comments. Okay so there's a lot of crap at V but it's not all that bad. And at least they never booked PSY! :P

Jesus Christ can you imagine if they did! The reason I loved this festival was because it had a good mix, me and the mrs were both satisfied out of the weekend that we'd seen enough of what we like, am not talking about all guitar music, I've quite happily stood there listening to calvin harris (when he was actually live) Lilly Allen (who I thought was brilliant) and example back in the day before he went crap. Now it seems there's no mix and it is more capital/kiss radio based artists

Agree completely.

What's more annoying is I say it's my last time every year and always get roped in come August because I live so close to the site.

Thats what's kept us going in recent years, she likes the locality behind it, but last year even she said there wasn't enough variety and that it's probably our last year, and that's coming from somebody who's music taste ranges from bloody westlife through to elbow!

Hopefully that isn't a Kendrick Lamar reference. Surely more suited to the people who prefer deep and meaningful yet uninterpretable lyrics like the R&L-goers...hopefully...

Kendrick is exclusive at Parklife i believe.

And i'm not even going to reply to your blink 182 and Reading comments because they're just ridiculous.

DAMN you almost bit.

Was being honest about B182 though. No thank you, never in a catrillon years. Say what you like about V but at least their headline bookings in the last few years have all made notable contributions to music since 2003.

I've been wondering, we've been struggling to think of a band that could play this year.

With the rebrand, what if they have fully converted it into a pop fest? And bands like Kasabian etc aren't playing instead it is two pop acts!

I honestly think they're going to pull someone like Coldplay, Foo Fighters or Muse out of nowhere. Or they will just have two pop headliners.

Calvin Harris and Justin Timberlake are now my guess

Calvin

Katy Perry

Justin Timberlake

Chase & Status

I feel V is telling us, "fuck what we were in the past, this is what we are now"...

She's on her own tour during V.

I seriously hope it doesn't all change to pop. Anyone thinking it could be 3 days instead of 2?

I think (this is me thinking) V has finally got the balls to do what it has wanted to do for 3 years.

That's speculation based on next-to-nothing though. My student radio station is called Vibe Radio, who's to say they're not just announcing that they're going to be asking us to pick the line-up.

Aye The Stone Roses have made a massive contribution to music since 2003.

    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
    • Similar feelings to a few others on here. Not my personal favourite edition but a long way from giving up on it. Felt overcrowded at times and there are just too many people there that don't seem to like music that much! Hardly went to main stages which was the plan. Highlights Ralphie Choo, rusowsky, Gorillaz, Geese, Gelli Haha, The Sophs, PinkPantheress, Dijon. Accommodation booked for next year. Thanks for your company and comments over the past year.
