true, I saw a scary graph that showed the exponential rise of tickets, and soon they will reach £500 for a weekend

Cant see that myself, theres only really glastonbury and v that sells out now. I think tickets will perhaps have a slight increase every year if at all. In my view organisers have to be careful as they will miss out on new people going to festivals as they choose to go elsewhere like a foreign holiday. My wife has just come back from spain and her holiday costs less than I spend for a festival.

You only have to look at reading/leeds/titp that the youngsters are not buying the tickets like they were 5 years ago.

I can see Reading and leeds not being as big in the next 5 years, maybe having to be more mainstream pop like they already are with Eminem and Chase and Status. Does V sell out alot nearer the time, I know I was rushing around that morning the tickets came out trying to get 3 and i didnt need to as they are still available :-/

I would buy a ticket to T if I lived near it and not go to V as I dont think the line up us that bad, so I dont know why people wont buy tickets to it but they will buy V tickets when they are the same price pretty much for one less day at V with less stages

I dont think tickets will get over 300 really as thats alot, and they would have to charge over 100 for a day ticket

A friend of mine is a supplier to V Fest. I pay £160 for the weekend.

Yes I do use the facilities - decent loos, a place to chill, proper bar and after hours DJ.

It's a lot quicker to go there for a drink than queue up at the normal bars - same for the loos.

Sounds like it, would Glasto want to try and get him? Maybe he will do T aswell, depends where his tour takes him I guess

I don't think it'll be Glasto, he has 3 paydays in V and Glasto and part of me can't see him being the person who would look at Glasto as a need to, not sure why.

They wouldn't let him do more than 3 shows in a particular period either, whereas if he did want to do a stadium tour, he could probably play V while doing selected stadiums too, leaving out Scotland to play T. End of the day, he's only got one show really which sold out easily and plenty more people that would cash in on him. But I reckon T will push the boat for him and I don't think it'd be met badly. JT, KOL, who's a 3rd bet? It's difficult though as I don't see one of the 3 not playing Glasto - one of the reasons that made me so adamant that Mumford would play Glasto.

Yeah because you make sense there :S

I think he could do V and T or Glasto exclusive then

The thought of reading becoming that much of a travesty is borderline unbearable.

Seriously though, I can see V outbidding R+L for Mumfords due to the fact they're just so so popular at the moment. I think Mumfords will do V an IOW next year

Agreed, obviously no chance that they would share mumfords, so I think V would get them unless they decide to not do fests next year, but I think they would do V and IOW or Bestival, I dont really know what type of act Bestival book but people were talking about daft punk for them so they must book all types of act.

Solo stuff , old BCNR stuff?    It’s only in November , it’s a bold booking to for someone who has previously had some struggles to come back and play a load of new stuff to crowds that big
