Leaving/Driving on the Monday

You will get hassled to leave by 5pm. All that will be left in the fields is discarded tents and rubbish.

On the plus side - Any remaining shops/ traders sell off stuff really cheap.

The bakeries are looking to get rid of stuff too, so breakfast/if you eat around midday is cheaper.

But beware - its really depressing on the Monday - if Glastonbury has a magical atmosphere over the festival weekend - its mood changes violently on the Monday. Its like the site itself has a nasty hangover.

You will get off the site easier though - good idea to chill out if your expecting a mad one on the last night.

I'm leaving on the Monday this year. I've always left Sunday night, and I'm dreading staying because I'm worried it'll be a bit depressing.

2010 I left at the end of Stevie Wonders set, nothing beats dancing your way back to the car to end the festival on a high.

We always leave monday afternoon, we get packed up and the cars loaded then go back and always have a big meal at the hurdy gurdy cafe! y

We always leave monday afternoon, have a nice lie in,something to eat and chill, normally get to the car about 4ish and drive straight out, much easier.

I don't understand the mad dash in the morning just to sit in traffic for hours.

its not, what cannot be stressed enough is do not leave your tent unattended at any point on the monday morning. its actually quite an eye opener sitting in your chair and watching all the vultures waiting to get your stuff the minute you leave!

with regards to the drink driving, by sunday evening I've had enough and don't need anymore stimulants drink etc! A general lack of sleep after a few messy nights and days on the ale and I'm floating around in a dream like state anyway without anything else!

fair enough mate, i always like to have a little look as well, I've seen kids with wheelbarrows full of food walking around, makes you think about what gets wasted :)

Nothing wrong with pilfering a full camp pitch left by people who cant be arsed to pack anything and just leave!

Make the most of Sunday night. The late night areas will still be going strong even if the main stages seem a bit empty and flat.

Take the above advice and dont leave anything unattended Monday morning. Otherwise leaving Monday afternoon is the way to maximise your weekend

Leaving Monday afternoon is rather sad, the site looks raped and ravaged by then. It gets increasingly odd as all the space and green reappears, but it's kinda fun seeing all the funned-out people

I always imagined leaving Sunday night would be the worst, leaving it all behind you.

I get out of the way first thing , one of it takes it easy sunday . It's just too grim and depressing to hang around. We don't go all the way home, we just go as far as Bristol and book into a really good hotel.

One year, 2010 was really bad, after a horrible long walk back to the car I was nearly hit bay suicide seagull
