There is a certainly a lack of of big name DJs missing. Not expecting bloody Ibiza but some of the following would have been nice.

Sasha, Digweed, Carl Cox, Oakenfold, Guetta, Swedish house Mafia, Calvin Harris, Knife Party, Fedde Le Grand, Nero, Eric Prydz, r3hab, High Contrast, Aphrodite, Danny Tenaglia, Dave Seaman, James Lavelle, Deep Dish, Layo and Bushwacker, Felix DaHousecat, Darren Emerson, Steve Lawler etc.. etc..

Such a shame the Glade has gone, it looks like its left a void in the current festival line-up for the so called "superstar" DJs. :(

thank god this guy isnt booking the dance line up! Almost withou exception everyne you mention is either chart/radio drivel or an utter dinosaur.

Give some of what they have booked a chance you might like it!! They know what they are doing. recommend:

bashmore

greg wilson

simian mobile disco

also i am very excited for bicep and horse meat disco! As others have said there is a lot more tba. Silver hayes have been quoted as saying only 15% of their line up is currently announced. Plus all late areas plus beat hotel means loaaads more to come.

No huge name DJs but there are some pretty big current chart toppers in there (not that chart is neccessarily an indication of being credible or decent)

I would imagine it would be a pain in the arse trying to get DJs booked with their summer tours/residencies in full flow. As much as it would be to get a band

Was really expecting Calvin Harris to have been anounced.

I think for a lot of the regular club DJ's who do the rounds it would be pretty straightforward getting them booked, they could theoretically play Glastonbury and another night in London on the same day, I know some people that have promoted various nights locally and DJ's can be very easy to get in if the money is right.

There are also a load of dance music festivals around the UK this year and I would think most of the same people will be doing all of them.

I would think someone like Calvin Harris would be very expensive to get, and he is also abysmal and a dreadful DJ - he would need a lot of production value spent on his set up which realistically wouldn't be worth it.

Perhaps I'm a little out of date with my EDM. I did notice fabric's bookings tend to take a dip around June/July imo.

I have only seen him live (liked it) but the DJ set from TitP & Hackney would suggest he would need a bigger stage than what the old Danve Village offered (not knowing beforehand what the new stage looked like)

First post.

Just an idea but on the saturday Dogblood are playing which features Skrillex. While not a fan myself it would make sense that he would play after nas and help pull some of the younger generation away from the stones? Or is he exclusive at reading?

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
