On the opposite end of the scale, I've noticed an increase in posters over in the R&L forums. There are definitely more teens posting regularly on there than when I first started poking around on here.

What's the V FaceBook page like? As bad as TitP?

Also, I think a lot of people have stopped coming on here (as I did for a couple of years) as they were bored with the following comments:

V is for people who don't like music

It is illegal to enjoy/listen to/watch pop music

Every single person who goes to V is a chav

We'd never go to V becuase we're far too hip

etc.. etc.. etc.. etc..

I would agree with bunny in that I think the stereotypical, reoccurring derogatory comments about V and the people who attend are somewhat offputting to people who attend/are looking to attend regularly. I DON'T agree that it's the festival for people who don't really like music. Just because people like a different kind of music to you doesn't mean they don't like music. It simply means they like a different kind, and as it stands music means something different to everyone, regardless of preferred genre(s). I DON'T agree that it's only full of 'body builders and chavs". I attended last year and have tickets this year and I identify as neither. YES, the lineup has deteriorated since previous years. However, it's important to understand it has only really deteriorated to people who don't particularly like pop music, myself included. Having said that, I think it's nice to dabble in other genres and there are still some artists there that I like, ie James, ocean colour scene, the vaccines, the Courteeners and stereophonics to name a few. The change in genres and quality of lineup is due to demand. V gives what consumers demand. There is LESS guitar based bands and indie bands in the charts now and more pop in the charts now and V simply reflects this. I don't understand what's really to complain about. Rant over. ;-)

after an extended break from festivals (my last one was in 1979 !), I went to V in 2010 and loved it. Going this year for the 4th year running. Obviously not everyone will like all of the acts, but if you cant find 10 acts each day out of 40, you're not trying.

Never seen any trouble, just lots of people of all ages having fun. Mind, the weathers been great every year I've been, so that helps

Looking forward to the next announcement, which might only be a couple of weeks away, going off last years timetable. Watching Chic on telly at the minute, they would be a good addition.

That's all, carry on moaning peeps

Why I don't like v goers!

Most of them are completely gullible in thinking that they are getting a good deal for what they are buying.

Same recycled acts year in year out, weak bookings, un-necessary bookings (x-factor winners) and these people are normally people who don't discover music themselves they are just handed it to them on a plate and told "this is popular so like it".

How ironic that his username is Mr Idiot.

Everyone that I listen to I have discovered, whether that's by friends recommending them, finding them on TV shows, finding them on spotify etc

Just cos I like pop doesn't mean I've been force fed them.

I think I'm getting a brilliant deal, I am watching 20+ acts that I like as well as discovering new music for £180 which is why I will be going back

This year will be the first year for me at V, done Glasto and download in the past few years.

The main reason for me and my mates going will be to see KOL, Phonics and the Vaccines few others worth a look also. always wanted to see Kol but never got the chance. So for me paying £180 is a good deal + a weekend away with mates is a bonus.

I for 1 am looking forward to to it

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
