F1 2013

To me its no different than a team going defensive at 2-0 and seeing out the last 15 mins of a football match...

This is F1... Moments of excitement and long periods of strategy and tactics playing out.

Fans want to see millions of pounds worth of carbon fibre going through the air. Its not realistic though. Specially given the cost of putting the sport on. There is a time to go for it and a time to say, lets bring the points home, job done.

Pulling over to let another driver past in my mind is very toxic, in race 2.... No driver should be a number 2. Holding stations and being sensible is just fine.

I suppose the logical conclusion on team orders is to go back to the 50s; Vettel's car breaks down, he hops into Webber's and wins the race...

Anybody seen this?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/22098438

Vettel-;""I don't apologise for winning...I think that's why people employed me in the first place and why I'm here. I love racing and that's what I did."

True but what a d*ck, basically it means that if you are good enough(Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso etc)the rules don't apply to you as you can get away with it! haha will this spark resistance in the top teams ie Webber not ding as told in future?

Vettels beef is Webber didn't help him in the past...

The whole thing pisses me off... Today Vettell has said sorry, I didn't mean it and I would do it all again... I mean FFS you can't be all those things...

The two just fucking hate each other and think each other are twats. Best they just said it and moved on.

The best part now is all the cards are on the table. Vettel won't be helping Webber, that is clear. And if Webber obeys a team order to help Vettel it would confirm beyond on all doubt Webber is the number two driver.

Just saying 'fuck it' and driving 100% to win isn't the best idea these days though; you need to preserve engines, gearboxes, whatever else for x races due to the cost-cutting rules. Boooring.

As a Mclaren fan this season is meh for me. I do think though, even if we had a car that could compete we still wouldn't win. We don't have a top driver.

Would like to Raikkonen win this season though, find him hugely entertaining and an ace driver. Be nice to see another team win also(even if it is a renamed Renault).

Anybody seen this? Big rumours that Webber will be leaving F1 and joining Porsche...

Clearly but given your posts constantly slagging off the sport I doubt anything would entertain you in modern F1. I think you wear rose tinted glasses when looking at the past... Most F1 fans do...

Yes the last 10th of the race was quite exciting. The previous 9 10ths were shit.

Ignoring whether DRS is 'good' or not, they fucked it up in China - learning nothing from last year...

Having a tyre degrade after 4 laps does not make for good racing. I'm happy tyre management forms part of a race. The balance at the moment however, is hopelessly wrong.
