I'm not really convinced that it matters unless it's a stick to beat bands you don't like, Gram Parsons came from a wealthy family, The Beastie Boys were from very upper middle class families, Joe Strummer was the son of a diplomat. We writing them off as well?

Nope, but they got where they got on merit, not Mummy and Daddy's pound, which is what I've heard about Mumford and Vaccines, can't confirm it though, I doubt anybody can really, but it adds up.

Mummy and Daddy can't make the band no. 1 around the world though.

I don't mind Mumford & Sons, i find them a bit levellers-lite but not too bad. Not sure why they are so easy to hate when someone like the Arctics Monkeys seem universally loved on here.

Right there's something i'm thinking that's bugging me, for the past many years glastonbury have shared headliners/subheadliners with t in the park. And it's not just been a couple of times, it's been pretty much a yearly occurance!

2011 - Coldplay, Beyonce played both.

Because the Arctic Monkeys seem at least a little genuine in that the music they play is actually influenced by what they enjoy listening to themselves and always seems to be that way with every album.

Mumford on the other hand have done this horrid mishmash of what is essentially popular indie music with a banjo and they themselves/their record label/the music press/awful fans have called it folk music. They are packaged excessively even to the point where they act laid-back and claim they are not 'pop stars' when in reality they know very well that they are. Arctic Monkeys have always admitted what they are, stayed with their independent record label and just gone along about their business. Oh and their songs are a lot better as well..
