And just to clarify that: under normal Belgian train ticket rules, you can break your journey as many times as you want along the way, so long as you keep going in the same direction. If you put Charleroi-Sud in as departure station you can use the same ticket all the way to Hasselt and stop off in Brussels.

My friend said you can catch the train each day to the festival but she wasn't sure about buses back. As she's just gone on holiday for a fortnight, it's probably worth emailing the festival direct as they are usually pretty good at getting back (apologies if you have already done this though).

Surprised we haven't had an info yet about the non-musical attractions on offer this year. They usually announce that before the timetable comes out so here's hoping we get some news this week. Can't leave it too much longer though as I'll be on the plane three weeks Wednesday!!

In past years De Lijn (Belgian bus company) has had a few late night buses to various cities leaving from opposite the festival entrance each evening. Genk may be one of the destinations, but I've never studied the timetables at the bus stop as I've never needed to... As Semprini suggests, your best option is probably to email the festival directly and ask.

Don't expect a quick answer today though. It was Belgium's national day yesterday, and they got a new king to boot, so everyone will probably be hungover right now...!

Timetable is up. No more major additions which is disappointing.

Thoughts -

TEED clashing with Neil Young, booo.

The Prodigy are on late!

Alabama Shakes clash with Jagwar Ma AND the Liverpool v Stoke game!

As much as I like them, The XX is still a bad choice for headlining the last day.

Aside from that, seems ok.

I'd already worked out that Crystal Castles and Bat for Lashes were going to clash, so no surprise there. Easy solution: Crystal Castles win.

I had been quite intrigued by Chuck Ragan, but now I see he's clashing with Frank Turner, there's no contest. Sorry Chuck.

I'd also wanted to see Parov Stelar, but I'm not sure I can be arsed to yomp all the way down to the Dance Tent and back to the Marquee in between Miles Kane and Johnny Marr. And I know 100% that my wife won't be up for it... Looks like a cold beer will fill that gap instead!

And it's good news (as far as I'm concerned anyhow) that GY!BE have got 1.5 hours. That means they might be able to squeeze live standard Behemoth into the set after all (it's only 44 minutes long...).

Well there goes my morning of work (not that I was really planning to do much anyway). First impressions are pretty good, no major clashes to speak of and love the fact that Chase and Status, the Prodigy and Goose are all doing late ones. Thursday is all clear aside from a bit of overlap here and there but will get to see all of Wilkinson which is a bonus. End of the night gets a bit hectic but I should be able to see bits of everyone, including Slayer!!

Will have to split my time between Twenty One Pilots and Dope D.O.D. on Friday and then got a nasty three-wayer between Chvrches, Toddla T Sound and Mala in Cuba to sort out later in the afternoon. Probably won't get to see as much of Rone and Duke Dumont as I'd hoped as Ms Mr are rapidly moving up to the very top of my 'must see' list; had the album on repeat for a few weeks now. Undoubtedly the worst one of the weekend though is Maya Jane Coles and the Magician. Will do 50/50 of each but wanted to catch a bit of DJ Fresh too so not sure how that's all going to fit in?? Gutted I probably won't see much of SBTRKT either but there's no way I'm passing up the Prodigy.

Get to see all of Gorgon City on Saturday afternoon and then straight on to Jagwar Ma which should be a highlight. No other real issues on that day for me and will be nice to finish with a mix of Mr Oizo, Paul Kalkbrenner and Goose. I'm determined to do a 4am finish in the Boiler one of the nights so will have to get my best rave head on to see that through.

I'd also wanted to see Parov Stelar, but I'm not sure I can be arsed to yomp all the way down to the Dance Tent and back to the Marquee in between Miles Kane and Johnny Marr. And I know 100% that my wife won't be up for it... Looks like a cold beer will fill that gap instead!

timetable is great for me

on Friday evening I won't have time to breath....

kinda sad that I won't see Johnny Marr & Local Natives (clash with NIN & Neil Young) but on the other hand it will be nice to see bands that I'm not a big fan of such as Slayer,James Blake,Daughter,Eels,Cult of Luna,Gojira,The XX and of course some dance acts that will close each day

I will try to catch Killswitch Engage & Triggerfinger for 20-30 minutes,

Sylosis is also nice addition

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
