Coachella's lineup is usually out in mid january right, might give some clues about who will be available

I'm with Tom on this one (blimey!).

Doing some research on the bands you've never heard of before is all part of the fun. I'd have missed out on some great acts at festivals if it wasn't for that.

Yup, I'd hate for it to become something that people make their minds up about going or not after the lineup comes out. Keeps it special.

After my first Glasto (as recently as 2004) I came away thinking "that's the one place I've been to where I'd come again regardless of who's playing"... whereas, well let's say I haven't been to V for a few years...

Full line-up second week in April - after re-sale, I'd expect an earlier announcement of a few names before that, perhaps a few dropped when they announce what's happening with the new dance village. Then smaller stages and 'new attractions' (if there are any) line-ups after the mid-April date. Circus & Theatre announced before that.

Perhaps like last time the headliners announced mid February, and a few 'teaser' acts announced before main line-up reveal.

she means after re-sale tickets those left over, once deposits are paid. Tickets haven't 'gone' until the payments are paid.

I wasn't sure she meant that. I got the impression it was just a sly dig at IOW (and other festivals) by saying we don't need to reveal our line-up to shift tickets. IIRC her comment was in response to a tweet asking when the line-up would be announced as IOW had just announced headliners

How? If you don't want to know don't look, I fail to see how not knowing adds any enjoyment what so ever and if you don't care you could choose to ignore it, yet releasing the lineup might get a few people on the fence to experience something new....
