Essex_George
does that mean it's out of order to have an intelligent discussion about some aspects of the way in which the festival is organised dont be such a cock
Wooderson
All this moaning about what is wrong with the festival or that it's not as good as it used to be gets boring. Just enjoy it FFS.
5co77ie
Africa Express wasnt on telly and that was an unqualified triumph.
The Nal
Its one of my issues with the Beeb coverage. Bands cant take risks with bringing on special guests/doing something funky, because if something goes wrong, a mic or whatever, they look a right tit on the telly. Glasto has become more of a vehicle for sales as a result. Get the Beeb out I say. Show a single highlights package on the Sunday.

Wooderson
Weird then how I had a recording of coverage of it on my old telly box

The Nal
Sorry Scott I had no idea it was shown on telly, mate. Must have a root for it when i get home later.
eFestivals
I didnt know the crowd wasnt great for it. How disappointing. to be fair, it probably didn't help that it was pissing down, or at least pretty miserable - I remember that it was horribly muddy, and not a lot of fun trying to walk thru The Park to where the stage was, because of the steepness of the ground combined with having to often walk along that steepness (rather than up or down it). I suspect that some people who might have come in perfect conditions decided to keep their walking to a minimum because of the mud.

Wooderson
being blunt, dont fucking read it then Wooderson wasnt moaning, he was (as I read it) trying to have a sensible discussion about some aspects of the festival...if you dont want to be part of that, go somewhere else and talk about something you want to talk about

abdoujaparov
Are you having a bad day at work? I was merely putting my point of view across, which by the sounds of things you do not agree with. Essex_George
you came into a thread you apparently have no interest in, said something idiotic and told people to stop moaning...managing in the process to completely miss the point the OP was making. Good work
Wooderson
Thanks! To me the OP sounds like he is having a moan, so my point is not 'idiotic'. As has been said there are 50 odd stages, if the line up on the main stages bothers him go elsewhere or as I suggested earlier don't go at all. The festival has been doing what it's been doing for decades, if they start messing with the main stages and taking off big name acts that are current today then the festival will not sell out. eFestivals
your ability to consistently miss the point is stunning not really. He's nailed the point. No matter how much some might find woody's words a good idea, the festival does what it does because that's what makes a festival of its size work. It's all very well suggesting that it does something left field but that won't bring in the punters in the numbers that Glastonbury needs nowadays. People in general don't want experimental, they want tunes they know to dance or sing along to.
