Sack truck / trolley

Our faithful sack truck was severly injured getting our kit back to the car at the end of the last festival, and despite our best efforts, it's died. B&Q don't seem to do the same model any more (the red one that was £12.99 about five years ago) and some of the others we've seen are either quite a lot more expensive or have not-very-robust looking wheels, or both. Anyone got any recommendations for something reasonably priced with decent wheels? We'd like to get one now rather than waiting until the summer when everyone's after one for their festival lugging.

Pram, pram, pram...... it's the way ahead.

Need one with wheels like this, handy stowage underneath.

This is the model I have (as already mentioned, picked up for a bargain on ebay.)

Just get rid of the nice bedding etc, and load; use a couple of bungy straps for extra stability.

I do tend to have to do a 2nd car park journey tho when there are 2 of us, but it's briliant.

I made my own push bike trailer - but also used pulled by hand.

26" mountain bike wheels don't get stuck in mud on stones etc nearly as badly as the diddy wheels on most sack trucks etc.

A bit more hassle to store, however :).

I've got something like this which has been good

I seem to remember getting cheaper than the price here but admittedly I got it last year

I have it on very good authority that the 4 wheel garden trolleys are the way forward. A couple of friends used to use a stack truck but this year at Bestival trialed their 4 wheel garden trolley. Well fuck me when I saw it stacked up it looked like a Eddie Stobbart lorry it had so much shit on it. Asked how it manouvred and was able to be pulled I was told it was something like an akin to a dream. Seriously, you can stack them babies high.

Yeah, that's exactly the problem. They don't fit into a normal car (unless you don't need to use the back seats). Good for carrying things at about 40cms in height. Would need to find creative ways to carry stuff on the second layer - or be more skilled at packing it than I am.

After the hideousness of dragging my sack truck (a decent one with sensible wheels) through the mud last year, I am seriously doubting whether to take it unless it's a repeat of 2010 sunshine next year. I definitely had a harder time than all my friends who didn't have one to drag (although as nominated tent carrier, I probably didn't really have an alternative - I'm such a mug!). Hmmm dilemma.

I just stumbled on this when I was looking for something else by coincidence, looks a bargain to me:

or maybe this one, even cheaper:

They've also got some bargains on wellies, solar showers, water carriers etc in their clearance sale

We have reinforced an old cycle trailer that we bought to transport the kids around. My hubby overloaded it (I did warn him) on the way in 2010 and the front wheel came off. We attached an extra support bar and replaced the broken wheel with a new one taken from a kids bike. It worked so well in the mud as it has 3 decent sized wheels and took loads of weight (only 1 extra trip to the car and we're a family of 5). You can pick them up on eBay cheaply and they don't take much to adapt to your needs. Best of all they fold flat in the car. Highly recommend doing it if you have the time or inclination
