Picked up Walking Dead Season 1 on the Vita for about 6 quid. I've finished the first chapter and am quite enjoying it.

Also, Resogun is now out on the Vita. Its cross buy, so if you "bought" the PS4 version when it was free on PS Plus, you now also have the Vita version for free as well :) Not had a chance to play it yet though.

Loved Black Flag, really rekindled my love for the series. I know AC is quite heavily criticized for it's repetitive formula, but that game really did see the big change in the series imo even though arguably that was in III with the different engine that was used. Anyway, I'm still on the 360 but hoping to get an Xbox One in the new year somepoint when the price has gone down a bit. Anyone played Shadow of Mordor? Very interested in it!

Its not meant for adults! Its just lego with a rollercoaster hype machine behind it, and the fact that kids can mix socially if they want to without actually leaving their bedroom. I see its draw, but watching my lad play it used to bore me stupid.

I could never get into Minecraft. I'm sure if I was 8 years old it would be amazing, but I just don't have the patience for it. I've never really liked build-it-yourself type games anyway (Sim City etc).

I wouldn't lump it in with SimCity! :P

I've never got into Minecraft myself, but some of the models people build are amazing! Especially as the blocks are mostly rather simple, seems to appeal to younger generation than me though. My sister and her mates play it all the time, but are not really "gamers".

Finished season 2 of Walking Dead. Really enjoyed it and can't wait for Season 3. My brother has started the Tales from Borderlands one. That looks good. I wish Telltale could make a Fallout version, that'd be cool. Speaking of Fallout. When is Fallout 4 on the way?

Their game The Wolf Among Us is on sale on PSN, £10.79 for the full season. Cheapest its been by far.

Theres a pretty good sale on the store actually, went live this afternoon.

Really want to get a new console, but also need a new laptop and don't have money for either, but can feasably save for one... am considering combining the two and getting a gaming PC, anyone have any idea how much the parts to build a PC capable of running the latest games, at the lowest price possible would be?

Tell you what these 'hackers' who have brought down Playstation and Xbox networks over xmas are complete c**ts.

What have they gained? Yet they've ruined lots and lots of peoples xmas'

Absolute bastards.

While I agree with most of this, I think 'ruined' is a bit much.

People might not have been able to play their new shiny consoles, but it's hardly ruining Christmas...

If anything they might have done families a favour and having them spend time together instead of glued to a controller and telly.

All the kids who had games consoles and they couldn't set them up properly, At least with PS4 you can play the games but Xbox one you cant can you until first time online install of each game?

Just think about the cost these thing are and then they wouldn't be able to play? Dont you think those children would be gutted, and what have these hackers gained from it? Nothing.

Its just pure nasty IMO.

My youngest is only 3 so we had a great time but my nephew is coming 15 and he had an xbox one. We did the family thing all day but come end of the day and my folks want to watch Downton Abbey and the like we would all split off but the consoles still weren't working online and they still aren't right now, I just don't see the point of bringing them down whatsoever.

Have I missed the reason they've done it?

You can do a reasonable PC for about £600 if you go for one of the AMD CPUs and a mid-range graphics card, that should cover games such as COD:MW, BF4 and Far cry 4 without falling over in pain.

Yup. Although it depends why he said he needs a new "laptop". If portability is required it'll be upwards of 800

Some guy said to these hackers on twitter that his is working and he can still play, so they went in and blocked his personal xbox account. Hmmmm so I get it now, they want to play god and nothing more.

Makes me wonder tho, whilst its surely illegal what they're doing I wonder if they are hacking peoples bank details as well.

And now they're offering FIFA packs to people...

No doubt the hackers are arseholes, but save some of your ire for sony and MS who insisted on "always online" consoles prior to launch (and subsequent u-turns)

I woke early yesterday and decided to play a bit of Far Cry 4, but couldnt even sign in my profile. About 25 minutes into this major fucking annoyance, I decided to try it with the internet unplugged - fine, signed in straight away, and was playing within minutes. I know this wont help those with new consoles who still cant play, but the companies paranoia about piracy etc are harming everyones enjoyment of their consoles.

and quite posibly their investment in security/how they choose to protect their services. It was out for a while and not the first time!

Trying to keep my eyes away from the steam sale. I spent too much on games just lately and most of my steam sale purchases end up with about 20-120 minutes playtime before getting forgotten (some bundle stuff has never even been played).

I've been lost in elite:dangerous since it's release. I'd picked up lots of extra shifts over xmas period so I've mostly just worked and slept, but on the couple of days off I played til my eyes bled, slept and then played more. It's weird because there's nothing really amazing happening, I'm just exploring the galaxy, trading stuff and doing the occasional mission, have hardly had any combat at all but I'm hooked. I might as well be playing Euro truck simulator, yet it's gripping stuff.

    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
