Decided to order COD last night on Amazon. Got a dispatch email at 9 in the morning today saying it was dispatched so was expecting it to arrive tomorrow but it came in the post today. :D

Anyway just got started online, so far it's alrite. I'm not a fan of the whole character thing, it means that each character has their own perks that you can not change. Also each character starts at rank zero which is a pain in the ass. Why don't they just have 1 overall rank and use it for all your characters?

you can, you have to deselect the ones that are active, you also need enough squad points to buy the others, and have reached the level to unlock them.

Ive spent most of the afternoon on ghosts for the 360 and I like it less than any cod game since cod2. i hated waw, but it was better than this.

the maps are awful imho, too big, and some of them are far too "corridory" just played the one in the factory/lab, and it was awful, zero sight lines and no idea where everyone is. I'm also sick of being shot inh the back.

I think I might trade it tomorrow and jump into bf4 before its too late. the reviews for that are better, I just held off because up until today I was getting a ps4.

Having slept on it, my desire to boot up ghosts today is absolute zero. I've bought BF4 for the 360, and will wrap up Ghosts for the lad for xmas (he had it on his list anyway, and he wont even notice its not sealed) after telling him I traded it for BF4.

Is this new Wii Mini any good? Worth getting for £99 with some games? Does it play old Wii games too?

Windy - I saw some stuff on Tearaway in Spain last week it looks really slick.

I would read eurogamers review of it before you take the plunge scottie

"This is a savagely compromised version of the original hardware that we can only recommend to the least discerning of gamers."

I think I've said it before on here, but when EA win this award over companies like Halliburton, Nestle, and Monsanto - there is something seriously wrong with the world.

They make shitty decisions about marketing shitty video games (in the most part). No one is dying as a result of their operations.

I actually had a job interview with Nestle once and in the interview they mentioned about all their ethical and charity work :sarcastic: Monsanto are just fucking evil, seriously why does a company that grow plants need their own private army?

Yeah sorry, was typing that on my phone in lobby during matches then went out for the night.

Its the same old battlefield - which is great. Its just that the learning curve is very steep, and you don't get breathing space to feel comfy. The only way you are ever going to get into it is to spend (I would estimate) 8 or so hours just getting a feel for the game environment. The maps as always are huge, and very daunting, and its impossible to tell where the enemy are for the first couple of matches (apart from the killcam). I genuinely didnt fire a shot in my first game, didnt get a kill till my 3rd game. But once you acclimatise to the frantic pace, start to familiarize yourself with the spawn system and its strengths, you will start to feel as if you are contributing.

For "contributing" do not read "doing well". Mercifully, the lobbies I were in were full of people with similarly bad k/d ratios.

You can then start to understand the maps, how they flow and the best routes from a to b.

I'm at the "contributing stage". From previous experience, the road ahead is gonna be a lot of fun.

and people dont "tag" the enemy enough. especially the recon guys who just fucking camp out of the way, but thats just noobs who should pick it up soon

I'm thinking of getting Battlefield for my PC instead of xbox now. A lot of people are saying the graphics are shite on 360..

Never gamed on my PC (apart from football manager) do you guys think I'd be able to run it properly without lag?

3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5 Processor
8GB Memory
1TB Hard Drive
2GB AMD Radeon HD 7730M Graphics Card
15.6" High Definition WLED with TrueLife (1366 X 768)

Did you do the secret dark tunnel? Ive completed it also but not the dark tunnel

I did find the dark bit by myself, but there was a door in the way. I think you have to have found all the eggs before it will open.

I haven't played it but a lot of that video looks like nit-picking to me. If you were actually running around playing the game, rather than deliberately trying to find bad textures etc, you wouldn't notice half of it.

    • Judging by last night at Wembley, Luke Combs should be in the conversation of headliner. The UK is having a moment with country music so I don't think it would be particularly left field either.

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
