I think i'm going to stick to the tried and tested crate of lager, bottle of vodka, bottle of rum again this year. So what has everyone else got in mind?

Whatever i can get my hands on down the Tesco near Leeds, cannot be bothered lugging a couple of crates on a coach with me again like last year, might bring a bottle of jack with me and a few 24 crates of strongbow from the Tesco

2 litres of Skittles vodka, 1 litre of Mars vodka, 1 litre of Jagermeister... and plenty of Monster to mix with.

Litre of Vodka, Litre of JD...since reading is close to a couple of tescos, will probs just go in there and grab what ever cider/larger is on offer.(Actually is this decent idea or does it get raided of alcohol fairly quickly?, I am going by train you see )

Depends what is on offer and what isn't really.

I'll be buying vodka, jager or sailor jerry's. I'll mix with energy drink or coke.

got 2 crates and 8 pint cans so far , likely take a bottle of vodka/coke as well. had to go tesco mid afternoon on the thursday last year as i was running low rather quick

Ordered a crate of Punk IPA for the Thursday, might as well start on the good stuff. Going to bring another two crate of cheap lager / cider,

Probably take 3 crates, usually fosters as it tends to be on offer.

Then a bottle of either vodka/irn bru or rum/coke.

3 litres of vodka and lots of lemonade. I swear by it.

Litre of Smirnoff export strength vodka & Dr Pepper, litre of Smirnoff flavoured vodka, litre of Gordons gin & lemonade, litre of dark rum & coke & a crate of Brothers Festival cider. I don't bother with lager as it tastes bad when warm, warm cider is much nicer & usually stronger. I keep my cans under my ground sheet on the floor to keep them cool.

However I may as well recommend Smirnoff Lime flavoured vodka... it'll go with both coke & lemonade & isn't to overpowering taste wise whilst still being 37.5%. Apple I find is a bit too sweet & not tried Blueberry. Absolute & a few available too.

I only buy branded vodka, it might be a placebo, but I find I don't feel as bad the next morning.

Tesco definitely stocked up extra crates of alcohol when I went in on the Wednesday last year. There were stacks of 24x Brothers Festival strength as tall as the highest shelves off the floor. Was a little bit dangerous picking one up.

Warning: keep you're receipt once you've purchased any booze from Tesco as a security guard checks that you have one by the exit.

Last year I went to the tesco out Orange gate at Reading Festival last year, about 10am - 11am on the Thursday and it wasn't too busy. How busy will it be about 1 - 3pm on the Thursday?

(Went on Saturday and the queues are stupid, was there for about 2 hours)

It's a shame Sailor Jerry's changed their flavour. So many students, friends & colleagues complained. Was brilliant to take to a festival as it was a great mixer with just about anything.

It's a good idea. I've never known them to run out, although if you're arriving on the Friday you might have slightly less choice, so if you're picky about brands it might be better at least bringing your spirits down on the train. Even if Tesco run out they'll be the street-sellers charging tolerable prices near the entrance.

Dont forget glass isnt allowed, you may get it in but if not its either drink it or bin it.
