I moved out of London 9 months ago, I was a student while I was there. Never worked in London.

But Its a daft question. Its a city of 8 million people ffs, of course there are jobs if you literally don't mind what you do.

I know, but it's obvious it is a bit of an open ended question where people may give hints on particular areas/sectors/parts of London/market to look or to go. It's not specific what so ever to start a discussion.

In recent (shocking) news

The cost of a pint of Sam's Smiths has gone over the £3 mark

Very sad times

Where in London are thinking of living? Depending on how much you're earning you're going to have to decide carefully. Some places will be totally out of your budget

Tottenham is rough as arseholes, avoid.

Live south of the river, cheaper, greener and the overland is a dream. I live in south east london and wouldnt live anywhere else.

There's still work in London, but what experience do you have? Bar work and restaurant work etc is usually snapped up by overseas visitors here studying. And to be frank, they generally do a much better job than the lazy brits

The hardest jobs to find at the moment are entry level jobs. This is pretty much the only thing I am glad I am old for.

Add me to the list of efesters moving to London... I start work near Oxford Circus next week; that's in a career I've got experience & professional qualifications for though, and took about 4 months to find.

I needed to get accommodation sorted quickly, so I'm staying with a friend-of-a-friend in Brentford for now. The commute is a little over an hour though, so I want to move somewhere closer in pretty soon. I'd like to live in Camden, but anywhere decent seems to be super-expensive, so I was thinking either around St John's Wood or the Finsbury Park/Arsenal/Islington area... are they pretty okay in general?
