Got my room in the flat, area seems quite cool and a short walk from Seven Sisters tube station. Not met all my flatmates yet but they seem cool.

Done a bit of adventuring with one of my London pals so will have to start the job search mega now as she's back at work. Looked at a lot of cool meet ups and couchsurfing groups and stuff! Having a good time! Just a short message as I knew you'd all be worried how I was getting on! :-p

the new posh hotel? Isnt that going to be the top floors of the shard by london bridge? I'm not 100% sure.

I make you right about the river walks. I love the canal walks too. I find seeing how magnificent the backs and gardens of the houses that back on to the canal are fascinating, especially as from the front they often dont look like anything special at all really. Sigh, I do miss living north of the river sometimes I must confess.

As for swimming in the river - what madness is this?!

not sure.. I was hot, the water looked lovely, I'd been reading about how relatively clean the Thames had become (I think it was little more towards Twickenham.. Eel Pie Island-ish). I don't do it anymore as far down the river as London, but at least a couple of times a year in the summer we head out west along the river and have a swim. Not sure if I 'should' or not

noo.. Shangri-la, of Glastonbury fame, is having a 'thing' in London

I wonder if it's still happening?

yup, it appears to be. Bloc fest is one of the things happening there, and we had a press release about that recently which was still giving that location. I guess there's no reason to hear anything more about the site itself until it's all set up and ready for action.

    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
    • Lifelong Carlisle United supporter here.🤦‍♂️ Good luck for the coming Season and see you in October!
    • Any other lower league/non-league supporters on here? It’s all change at my team, Aldershot Town. We’ve released 25 players and the new manager has brought in 21 or 22 completely new players. Going to be an interesting gamble.   There’s a little video here on the reasons why:
    • if you’ve been fighting the same fight for 30 years, maybe you’re the problem?
