Lineup 2014

Probably. Most bands bring out stuff to tide people over until the debut album.

I wonder how well the album is going to do, if it's not up against any major releases it could get alot of coverage - especially with them playing reading on it's release week.

If it goes #1 per say, could you see them getting a massive slot if they were re booked next year?

I do personally. I know some people think their progress is going to be slow but I can see them getting big slots on a few festival bills next year.

Only thing I can see right now, is they'l probably get put onto the other stage at glasto.

Still think they will be in the NME next year at reading, they don't feel like a mainstage band yet.

As you said, they haven't released anything yet so I imagine they're not quite a 'main stage band' yet. I think they'll play main, they'll pack out the NME this year and are playing a number of large open air gigs this year so they would probably handle it in just over a year's time.

Then why hasn't V festival sold out? Surely that's much more populist than Reading this year?

because that type of music is waning in popularity. Guitar music isn't doing well but it's worth noting that as Reading and Glasto are the two only fests to sell out, it has to be doing something right

IOW is an outlier because holy shit who actually goes to IOW

    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.

    • Liddle: "Drop a small nuclear bomb on Glastonbury to immediately remove from our country almost everybody who is hugely annoying.”   Farage: Free speech!    Polanski: accepts a collaboration on 20 innocuous looking set of photos on instagram but doesn't notice that one that says 'making plans for Nigel' with a guillotine image.   Farage: I expect the MET police to arrest him.
    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
    • Said it before, but if Annie Lennox is available next year, then it would be an absolute crime to instead book anyone else. She's rare and legendary enough that you drop all other plans.
