Biffy Clyro

Pendulum

Lostprophets

Bring Me the Horizon

Frank Turner

Bloc Party

Mumford & Sons

White Lies

Miles Kane

You Me At Six

(Not a f'king clue)

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds

Editors (If they carry on without Chris)

The Enemy

(Dance act)

Foals

I don't have a clue who could be the third headliner. If it is a band heavier than Biffy then the undercard would need shuffling around.

I can't think of a dance act to play above Foals on the NME, however Melvin seems to like this concept. If no dance act then I'd say Vampire Weekend in that slot but I can see them at V.

This may sound completely mad, but if The Vaccines new album is as successful as their debut I could maybe see them returning (stupidly) to sub.

That Biffy day is the exact same as I've predicted :) and the Bloc Party day too except I reckon someone between Miles and White Lies. Noah & The Whale? And i agree about the third headliner, who knows! The Stone Roses? But not with Noel subbing, too predictable :/ could Jack White be sub size if this album goes down well?

I reckon with a new album Miles will get a high placing in the vein of The Vaccines and Bombay this year. All the kids who pretend to love Oasis, The Stone Roses and that love him, and so do I. :P Maybe Maxïmo Park could go above him though?

I could see The Stone Roses, just think they'll be at Glasto. Maybe thinking 'Tallica at this point, but I'm really stuck haha!

And I don't think Jack White would be sub size. But I'd take him anywhere! I'd even have him headline over almost anyone :P

I love Miles too, he was amazing in the tent last year :) Maximo are a good shout, theyre bringing a new album out aren't they? I think The Enemy will play 4th down, possibly 3rd if the new album is big. They've got to be booked, theyre an amazing band. I was disappointed that V got them this year :/

Haha! He'd be great live. Also, gutted about Editors guitarist leaving, hope they carry on and return next year. Realistically who do you think could be a 3rd headliner?

My brother text me today whilst I was in a geography test about Editors guitarist leaving haha :( I was gutted too. I'm hoping their Birmingham show in June goes ahead.

And I need Jack White to announce a Northern show now! Haha.

And I honestly don't know for the third headliner. Maybe someone like Pearl Jam because the other two headliners appeal to a younger audience. Or maybe The Killers instead of Bloc Party, and another average sized headliner.

I was thinking, since 2006 there has been an older type of headliner on the NME(excluding 2009)

2006- Primal Scream

2007-Ash

2008-Manic Street Preachers

2010- Faith no More

2011 Jane's Addiction (yeah, I know they cancelled)

2012- At the Drive-In

Will that be the case for 2013 ? Ifso, who could it be ?

    • They are going to have Blink 182 for sure, early June upto around Werchter weekend I'd say for them. Two of Sweden Rock,  Greenfield and RFP are going to miss out.
    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
    • Yeah mentioned in the park thread but feel more Woodsies to me
