I'm thinking Mumford are rather more likely for R&L, but that may perhaps be wishful thinking due to the fact that the people I'm going to Leeds with have the same burning hatred for them as I do and will come to see another stage headliner with me. But at Glasto I will be forced to watch them if they play, and told off if I don't enjoy it. I really don't want to be in a crowd of middle class mums watching Mumford, these are nightmares that keep me awake at night.

People are entitled to like Foals over Black Sabbath, due to the fact that Foals are far better, but Mumford and Sons are an inexcusable product of a deeply sick and twisted music buying public.

There may well be people who believe that, and contrary to a lot of people's beliefs, I don't single out bands as terrible before making up my own mind. I downloaded a foals album when they were announced for one of the last Readings I went to, there was nothing setting it apart from the other garbage (Bombay Bicycle Club, The Vaccines etc) that gets plugged to high hell by R1, NME etc.

I honestly can't fathom the train of thought that would lead people who, seeing as they're at a music festival, SHOULD be fans of music, to see some flash in the pan, dime a dozen act, you will be able to see numerous times over coming years, rather than honest to god legends, who despite not being long for this earth (more reason to see them now) will out-perform every other band on the line-up, beggars belief.

Having seen Sabbath at DL this year, I'm willing to bet they won't outperform every newer band on the lineup.

They were good, but not so stunning that noone else has a chance of coming close.

This is the sort of shit that annoys me about the likes of Fleetwood Mac and the Stones. If I don't like the music then I don't like the music. Why would I want to watch a band that I don't like just because a) loads of other people do and because of that they have been given some 'legend' status, and ii) they're nearly fucking dead. Or even worse iii) because if I don't stand there with a bunch of chin-strokers and pay my respects then I don't qualify as a music fan. Fuck that. Nothing annoys me more than being told that I should see a band because 'they're legends'.

Find it very unfair to compare Foals to bands such as The Vaccines and BBC, they're much more than those bands. Very very talented musically. Total Life Forever is a brilliant album. Couple of people at my brothers work went to a listening session for the new album as they may be signing them and they've said the new album sounds great too.

I don't know if it's popular culture as such but he is from a 'comedic music' group called The Lonely Island and I believe the picture is of one the members (Andy Samberg) performing his song about white Rastas for our amusement...... actually you could be on to something there.....
