15th most listened-to rock band in the UK this week, ahead of The Strokes, Blur, Oasis, Biffy Clyro, The White Stripes, Rage Against The Machine, Guns N' Roses, AC/DC, Pearl Jam... they're also pretty overdue for a return to Reading.

Don't know how people have reached the conclusion that nobody cares about them or that they wouldn't draw.

I think this has to be the stupidest post of all time, including all the shit by Gazza etc.

Online popularity means fuck all. How many 'likes' are from England? How many people who 'like' the Facebook site want to see them live? I'm sorry man but that stance is fucking idiotic.

By your logic Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber should headline.

Considering people were whinging about Eminem potentially miming, I can't believe Linkin Park are being suggested. Worst mimers in the business, I suspect they've never played "live" in the traditional sense. Everything they do is auto tuned to ridiculous lengths. Awful that a band can be so highly regarded, when they're barely even trying.

Your right on the whole like thing on facebook.

But, I've seen a few posts by Gazza, he had been saying for a while about The Killers headlining the isle Of Wight Festival next year had he not? And it got announced today that they are.

He hasn't been on here for a few days now it seems but you still mention his name? It is amusing

Linkin Park wouldn't sub as there are plenty of festivals that would have them as headliner, they don't need to go back to R+L if it means downsizing their set and so on.

But it's true that they're not really relevant to the festival anymore. For a band who have been touring regularly for 15 years, they'd have probably been considered before now if they were. They're much bigger in Asia and South America where metal is still pretty huge, that'll be where all the likes come from.

It's not outside the realms of possibility though, and it's a fair enough shout. It'd just polarize the R+L crowds, a bit like Eminem.

Trying to stay positive here, and get away from a stupid Linkin Park playing argument. What do people think?

I'm just saying that they're a huge band with the capability to headline. It doesn't matter where the people are from; it's just the fact that, like eminem, the cure, foo fighters etc. and all of the other past headliners-they have millions of facebook likes. People listen to their music.

The whole Linkin Park argument makes me laugh

Absolutely no chance of them headlining, doesn't matter what stats you throw at us, how many likes they have on FB or how many people have listened to them this week

They are simply not as big any more, they will not be headlining

Despite all this, it looks like Mumford and Sons, Black Sabbath and now Arctic Monkeys are all more likely anyway

You are Gazza and I claim my £10.

such an easy guess is only worth a penny.

Lol, I don't even know who he is, I've seen his posts on here, that is all.

yes, and gazza knew eminem would be announced, he just couldn't shut up about him on the day of the announcement before the announcement.

Alternatively, you're telling porkies with your words and I'm telling porkies with my words that follow yours.
