2013 Lineup

It'd be nice to see some of the heavier bands who have done BBC Introducing get the boost up to bigger stages... Exit International and LaFaro are two of my fave bands atm... and they're both brilliant live. Exit in particularly nailed it on Introducing but they haven't been back since despite releasing an album.

I'd imagine they'll announce Black Sabbath then two big indie bands as sub headliners on the other days to show that it will cater to all audiences. I'd expect to see Black Sabbath, Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand or something along those lines allowing the gaps to be filled in next year.

Also Black Sabbaths European tour is being announced that day as far as I am aware, with slots at Graspop and Hellfest (and others) as far as I am aware.

announcement has to be between blur and black sabbath, blur have been announced for other festivals across europe and black sabbath have the tour dates announcement that day. black sabbath seem more likely but hope so bad it's blur!

Excellent point. I can't find anything either. The only way Black Sabbath at Reading makes any sense is if they're trying to squeeze out Sonisphere. Would be the headliner most add odds with the clientele in recent times.

I haven't heard anything about this either and the only thing that seems plausible is that it will be the 30th anniversary since they last played at Reading.

Surely if Sabbath are to play Reading/Leeds, they would be headlining other festivals as well on this alleged European tour. Someone claimed they were headlining Hellfest and Graspop, which is utter B*llocks and simply not true, so starting to doubt this rumour.

No, he put a rumour up about that because there was a rumour going round. He has specifically heard Black Sabbath are in talks, from an actual source.

Not sure i'd be too happy with Sabbath as headliner, last year fair enough with the hype of their reunion, but this year... not sure!

I reckon we'll get A big name headliner, The Prodigy, Biffy, Mumford, Bloc Party and then a few more acts

So who's it gonna be, my decision to go, is solely lineup based this time, i will not go if it's shiteee.

I feel the festival is really stuck in a rut, he needs to pull something HUGE out, What, i don't know, whilst Sabbath are great, it's hugely uninspiring, especially as Download got in there first last year (personally the lineup for Download last year was ridiculous!), It feels like second dibs, They need something wow, and what huge names are there out there?

doubt it will be that much. it would make the march announcment pretty drab.

unless their gonna just announce in chunks rather than one big announcment :/

I want to know where the rumour came from that Sabbath are making an announcement next week. Is it guesswork? Is it official? I don't care if it's just what Neil heard.
