The Greatest Women In Rock Of All Time list is now out, and is just as bad as the blokes list

http://www.nme.com/news/florence-and-the-machine/62853

1. Florence Welch

2. Alison Mosshart

3. Skin (Deborah Dyer)

4. Karen O

5. Debbie Harry

6. Siouxsie Sioux

7. PJ Harvey

8. Hayley Williams

9. Amy Winehouse

10. Courtney Love

11. Joan Jett

12. Brody Dalle

13. Chrissie Hynde

14. Patti Smith

15. Shirley Manson

16. Bjork

17. Charlotte Cooper

18. Kim Deal

19. Laura Marling

20. Kate Nash

Its good to see Skin on there, but Flo at number 1?! I actully quite like her, but to put her in front of Skin and Debbie Harry is just laughable. And WTF is Kate Nash doing on the list?

Janis is a must. Also what about Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane for the kids here)

(Wierd seeing a psychedelic band introduced on a mainstream family TV show)

And Joni Mitchell? Some people might put Joni in folk or jazz rather than rock but her range was pretty broad.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
