The official forums have been getting quieter over the years, I blame facebook, most people just use the facebook pages to chat/vent anger/whatever these days. But yeah they need to get a move on with the next announcement, it's been 3 weeks now! With bands starting to leak they must have some stuff in the works for soonish.

There's a bunch of bands playing Dour festival the weekend after Sonisphere in Belgium that are likely I reckon. The Computers, Cerebral Ballzy, Atari Teenage Riot, Meshuggah, Suicidal Tendencies, Suicide Silence, as well as Baroness and Red Fang who are at Roskilde in Denmark (same weekend as Soni). Most/all of these are likely for the tents though, no idea on bigger bands

Ruisrock which is the same weekend as Soni has Children of Bodom and Explosions in the Sky. Both perhaps possible, don't really like CoB though and heard they were pants at DL last year.

Rancid's EU tour dates start on July 19th in Austria, so guess they could be in for a shout, as so far their only UK date is Rebellion fest in Blackpool which I doubt is exclusive. Though I guess they could be at Reading headlining Lock-Up, although I know in the past Mike Davies has said he couldn't get them for lock up as he doesn't have the budget for them.

I'm hoping for lots of decent UK ska punk bands like Skints & Lightyear on the smaller stages for the Sunday so I can go and see Faith No More & Refused without being bored all day long. Beatsteaks or Transplants wouldn't be a miss for me too.

Maybe Korn then since they are just about to finish their UK tour?

I was disapointed with them when I saw them last week, far too much of the new album (I did enjoy Way Too Far tho) and it took a hour to start the crowd properly going.

Ah gutted! Hope it isn't the case, because I was genuinely looking forwards to the line up. Guess we'll find out tomorrow :(

If this does happen to be the case here's hoping some of the bands still make it over, even for their own gigs. A FNM/Refused/Glassjaw gig would be the best thing ever!

I'd thought it would happen for a while but didn't put anything as I didn't want to sound like a troll. But when the first announcement was released it really divided the community and the 2 halves weren't that equal. There were people raving about the line up but not many.

A shame if it is cancelled but unfortunately not a surprise to me.

I would have thought so, guess it'd just depend on how strong a bill they think they have - and if they manage to do it in better time next year? Considering bands just got added to Soni Spain, I imagine most of the already announced Sonispheres are still going ahead too, so it's possibly just the UK one if it's true and not the entire tour...here's hoping it isn't true though!

Just how shit have the sales been then? Max capacity is 60k(?) and they've done well enough when around 40k went before so considering there is still 3 months to it was meant to happen I could imagine they've sold as little as 15k tixs.

    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
