You know, thats EXACTLY what I was thinking.

The source of this has come from the Reviews Editor of Q Magazine, he posted it prior to Sabbath being announced

Rumours abound that headlining Download 2012 alongside Metallica are Black Sabbath and The Prodigy. *cack-handed devil sign*

He posted that before Sabbath today, aren't Q and Kerrang part of the same company, im pretty sure TV wise they are, so maybe magazines too and they share the same offices, I think it could happen. They've played download twice, go down vey well, huge back catalogue, recently rose again in popularity, are well recieved with the download goers even if they don't like them they respect them for 20 years plus in the industry. AND Andy said he would give them a chance as headliner last year.

Time will tell but who knows? It would be a good Friday headliner and Second stage could have a classic headliner opposite.

Heres the link by the way, Q magazine retweeted it also

97.

And I'll be in some kind of "emperors new clothes" situation where everyone else is lapping it up, and I'm one of the few people willing to admit the c*nts are naked (so to speak)

I would be delighted with any of those, Foos in particular for the "never played Download" factor.

Just to elaborate further on my Prodigy loathing, I really don't see the appeal of an act who "perform" by shouting "my *insert venue of gig* people" and "my *gig venue* warriors" repeatedly over recordings of them actually singing/shouting. It's shite, barely a step up from the likes of Britney Spears or Linkin Park who at least have the decency to pretend to perform their songs.

I believe so too, they won at least one best live act/rock act award a little while back now. best rock act and awards recently.

I still think Muse are hard to beat but Linkin Park do it amazingly time after time jumping around the stage, sweating their arses off too which is tough to do.

Yeah you're right there mate they did win an award for it and i don't normally agree with the critics to be honest but after seening Muse last year and Linkin Park at Download this year I think LP are slightly better live in terms of sound but Muse probably win in terms of fancy production, I like Chester's style of singing better than Matt's though so i am probably biased.

Erm, I hate to burst your bubble, but I'm sure it's fairly common knowledge that Linkin Park mime the shit out of their "live performances", which is why it sounds so crisp, the only ones in Linkin Park actually doing anything live is him on the decks and the sound technicians. I've seen them live more than I probably should have (5 times I think) and from the third time onwards I got wind of the miming, and once you know it's clear as day.

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
