OK OK weather Gods - I have got walking boots! Now behave please!!!

Thanks STEatT - definitely not moving from glorious Brum yet then! Will probably head north after rush hour tonight to wake up tomorrow with the view from the clifftop at Heasham - which to be fair is always lovely even when it's shit! May take my traininers and have a little run along theseafront to see Eric in the morning.

Not a cloud in the sky here! Anyone got a surefire method of taking weather with you? If I really try I am sure I can bring it!

Seem to have a signal at the cottage, champion ! Im getting a lift down off the father in law on thurs morning, first time the trip to a festival will have been made listening to classic fm ! His station of choice, his car his rules !

Hoping to leave about 10.30 which should get me there between 12 an 1 I would have thought. Hopefully no silly queues then in an set up.

I'm pretty miffed I can't make it down on Thursday, still got two more shifts to get through yet. My only day off today though means all my packing is done. Just have to get through a rush hour train journey to Manchester then the coach with all my gear, not looking forward to that part

Evening all! First Kendal Calling! Excited!

Couple of quick queries if anyone would be so kind as to answer them! Firstly, I'm sure I read somewhere that you couldn't get a pass out of the festival except in exceptional circumstances (though i can't find it now so maybe I imagined it!) Anyway, I'm planning on making several trips to the car to carry my stuff. just wanted to check that it's possible?

Also, we shan't be arriving 'til around 7 or 8pm, hopefully going to camp in the quiet campsite. I assume we shouldn't have a problem getting a pitch? (Assume should be replaced by hope really!)

Cheers guys!

Oh and suppose I should pitch in with my prospective songs of the fest.

Beans on Toast - Peter Pan's Playground

Lazy Habits - Even Out

Maximo Park - Write This Down

Shed Seven - Chasing Rainbows

Random Impulse - Overload

We Are Scientists - After Hours

Sound Of Guns - Sometimes

Scroobius Pip - The Struggle

Admiral Fallow - Squealing Pigs

The View - How Long

So many more, but I'm stopping now!

Notice in the info pack that there are showers in the normal camping (non-Emperors) - is this right?

Also, if anyone wanting to taxi share from Penrith centre on Thursday early afternoon, give us a shout!

    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
