Odd Future cancel Leeds

"Odd Future would like to formally apologise to both the Leeds festival organisers and the fans attending for having to cancel their appearance. Tyler recently achieved a lifelong dream of being nominated for two MTV VMA's - New Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for his video 'Yonkers', which he directed himself.

This is an extremely unique situation for a group who are devoted to their fans. We have agreed to give all Leeds festival ticket holders a pre-sale option for our next show in the north of England. Again we apologise to anyone who was looking forward to seeing them live, and will do whatever it takes to make it up to them. We look forward to having another opportunity to play Leeds festival..

Sincerely, Grandpa Wolf"

Personally I couldn't give a shit but that excuse is weak. There could be people who've bought day tickets to see them and are now stuck. Fair enough the VMA's are impotant to them but playing for their fans should come first.

I do hope that they get replaced, perhaps Goldie Looking Chain could fill in?:D

I would be more gutted but i was just thinking today that it could be quite likely that they were gonna clash with madness anyway, so id just accepted the fact i probably wasnt gonna see them :P

Still seems like a pretty piss poor excuse, extremely unprofessional to cancel your plans at the fans expense to do something thats you might prefer.

Nothing will ever make up for buying a Reading Ticket instead of a Leeds Ticket pal!

Reading is to controled for TV, same as Glastonbury...designed to give the fella on the sofa at home a good time as well as you. The fact the Leeds goes on till 4-5-6am in the Village and Campsites and Picadilly Circus and Reading stops at 12 will allways be the reason i head to Leeds over Reading every time.

Shame about Odd Future KASKSTYA??? are not playing for some people who were wishing to see them but im sure sombody will step in for Leeds once again Leeds gets somthing else to Reading!

Im proper gutted about this to the point I think Im selling my ticket and just getting a Friday ticket.

The only groups I wanted to see Saturday and Sunday are Offspring, Madness, Odd Future and Pulp. Ive seen Offspring and Madness tons of times before and I have to leave half way through pulp to go to work Monday morning so now odd future has pullled out its shit.

Its a f**king disgrace how they can just dismiss a festival just so they can go to an awards show.

As Iron Maiden said at the 2005 Kerrang awards (the Thursday before Leeds) "there are 100,000 people that mean more to us than the people in this room and thats the people in Leeds and Reading in tents waiting to watch us"

You have to take it into context for OF.

It's not right, but R&L doesn't mean as much to them, as VMA's will.

Everytime they come to the UK, they sell out every date, and I imagine the next time they come to the UK they will sell out every date too, so they won't be concerned about fests.

It's not right, but it's what happens.
