Pretty sure Dempsey will go to a CL club, he's always spoke of how he wants to play in the tournament and at his age I doubt he'll wait around at anyone else. Obviously needs an offer from one but I think Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs could all fit him. He's never been opposed to moving abroad either so could easily end up at PSG or something... would be a good pay day for Fulham if someone like that come in so heres hoping lol.

I wouldn't write Spurs off either if they get CL... depends if they've got the money to buy him and another striker though. Or if they can get Adebayor for another year.

Because we didn't rate him as much as them, and by all accounts fancied a different striker, doesn't mean we were skint. We had around £10m to spend in January, a lot of reliable sources suggested that. We had representatives, including Comolli i believe, in Holland trying to buy Texeira. He would have cost more than Jelavic.

The accounts today show no such thing as half the year was under the last regime. The accounts merely show we threw a lot of money away under the last owners, when we didn't have a pot to piss in.

We're not rich but we could certainly have afforded Jelavic, we just didn't buy him unfortunately!

Rooney's against Citeh won best goal. The shite celebration alone decreases its appeal (plus he shinned it). I liked Bergkamp's best. Total class

So Capello's just thrown is hat into the ring regarding managing in the Premier League. Says he knows the teams and the players, wants a final project, a big and important team in England that aims to "arrive at the top", and he's not worried by money. I reckon he would take the Liverpool job in a shot,, and Liverpool should be going after him. That's the kind of manager they need in there

I bloody hate the play offs 98 points hard work just thrown away in 45 minutes. 2-0 down not impossible to come back from with second leg at home, but an uphill struggle. Doesnt look like a wembley trip for me this season. Typical bad luck for us. Theres only one team in the 3 leagues above us and 2 leagues below with a better points total than us and they have to be in the same bloody league!

As for Dempsey Im with Nal a bit, he has a had a great season and is a very good player, however its not as if he has played at that level for 3 or 4 years. I think he could get lost in the shuffle at a man u or arsenal. Liverpool would be a good move, those calling it a sideways step are talking rubbish, liverpool have far more potential.

As for the Rooney goal, its clearly stupid and a result of fanboy voting. There are players in wrexhams league who could have scored that goal if lucky, which shows it cannot be the best.

Agree on Berhkamp's goal but I hate the 'Premier League' records and awards full stop. I'm biased because I'm a Liverpool fan, and I like history, but in my opinion using this 'Premier League' term just conveniently forgets the 100 or so years of league football that happened before.

Michael Owen wanted a top level medal, so went to Real Madrid. The first season after he left Liverpool won the European Cup.

Torres wanted medals so went to Chelsea. He's already missed out on a Carling Cup medal, might miss out on an FA Cup medal, and might not get a European Cup medal either, and might well have the same level of Euro competition next season as he'd have had if he stayed at Liverpool.

The less obvious move can sometimes be the better one.

Although you seem to forget that liverpool success isnt over 100-120 years, its based on 20 years(70s and 80s) and without them decades you wouldnt have many trophies. So really your whole success was for the same time the prem has been around.

It not like your man utd and had success in the 40s, 50s, 60, 90s, 00s.
