6th with Blackburn, UEFA Cup final with Inter + Fulham, won the championship in a variety of leagues (albeit minor), took one of the smallest budget teams in the league to comfortable mid-table 2 successive seasons. Managed international teams before and got them to achieve more than ever before....

Yeah, shit manager with no credentials for the England job. Far worse than someone of the same age who's managing a team in relegation form, had one run in the Champs Lge, threw away the chance at a Europa League run and has no experience of managing without buying....

Considering the twats who populate the England dressing room, Woy will be toast.

Redknapp hasnt got it because he's either chickened out (likely) or because the FA dont want the baggage that comes with him (just as likely).

If I wanted England to do well I would have picked Hoddle who I think was more suited to international football than the club game. England shot themselves in the foot by giving in to the media and promising an England manager because there was nobody really qualified to take the job.

When I look at Arry I see a manager who has managed a long time and won little, a manager who can get results against poor teams but not good ones and a manager who is tactically poor and has no plan B. Spurs are probably about par for the course this season, while WBA are probably over par

I wonder if in a way the tabloids love in with Arry damaged his chances. I suspect the FA didnt want to come across as being told what to do by the media. I think Arry could be in trouble if he doesnt get the England job, if Bale and Modric leave this summer, next year could be a difficult one at spurs.

Has it been reported anywhere that Arry turned it down? I just cant see why he would have done. I think Spurs are more likely to get worse than better and Arry wont be given a chance with a bigger team.

You see, you say that Agger hated him. Well, thats Aggers problem. The conduct of some of the players during Woy's time there was nothing short of disgraceful. In much the same way the conduct of brave English lionheart John 'JT' Terry and others was during Villas Boas time at Chelsea.

A lot of the time, my students cant stand me. They deal with it though. If the players dont like the manager, then they can ship out, or feel a lot better when they look at their bank balance.

. Reina hated him because he brought in a shit backward GK coach to replace the World Class one we had before, again he didn't complain. Reina and Agger are proper professionals, a class above the Chelsea lot. It wasn't them, it was Roy.

Yep, meant to be poor as a player (well definitely by the time he got to Wrexham!). Great and very respected goalkeeping coach though.

He was given long enough to work out it was a complete failure. We were in the relegation zone for a fair bit and that was picking up points we didn't deserve. I'm not saying I hate the bloke, but he was rubbish at Liverpool. People have tried to dress it up as he was hard done by but he simply wasn't. The worst thing from an England perspective was that he had an amazing knack of alienating the best players. Agger hated him.

Do you not think Dalglish played a significant role? As soon as it came out that the board had gone to Roy instead of "King Kenny" there was pressure on him. You can't help but think Kenny would go mad if he was treated in the same way. I really don't see how six months, with Dalglish in his wingmirrors was long enough to actually do anything.
