Quote of the weekend.

Roberto Martinez - "Credit to Liverpool, they didn’t just come to make up the numbers

.”

Thats the Wigan manager, speaking about Liverpool FC, about a game in Anfield!

He has a point though. This season has been Liverpools worst performance in the league in Anfield in 60 years.

Fucking arseholes! <_<

They're claiming its a commentary on "the people who latched on to it" and peoples "fake sentiments".

The poor guy is still in intensive care! As if some rag of a fanzine is the moral barometer for the football world and society in general.

Stick to what you do best lads - writing shit about possible transfers and seeing it reprinted in The Sun.

This is how to argue the point...

They have a slight point, people seem to attach themselves to anything these days in the Facebook era, I very much doubt, even a lot of football fans knew who he was, yet alone the general public who seem to have lapped up all this "pray for Fabrice" Twitter balls

I'd not seen that before, but it's beautifully done.

And I just love the use of one of my favourite words - mawkish. It's the sort of word you can get to use almost every day in today's most stupid society.

There's the mawkish fuckers who used to hang out at Wooton Basset, but who now do it elsewhere. Then there's the mawkish fuckers who wish to remember the place and manner of just about anyone's death with a bouquet at the side of the road, rather than the joy of that person's life. And now there's the mawkish fuckers at and around Bolton. And not forgetting the mawkish millions who mourned dead Di.

Yes, it's fucking sad when someone snuffs it, but only for the people who really knew them. And yes, it's fucking sad when someone snuffs it, but people do every day.

The mawkish fuckers have no respect, for themselves or the dead they pretend to care about. They just care about being seen for their mawkishness, for their pretence.

Those mawkish fuckers need to get a grip, a life of their own, and some perspective. Life is for living, not for mawking about someone who you don't know.

Please god, can the fightback start here? Oh how I wish it would. ;)

Are you talking re winning the FA Cup? That will decide if he's a good choice or not?!

Talk about papering over the cracks. Even ex All things Kop Cocksucker Chris Bascombe has realised that a wholesale rethink is required, not necessarilly by the Managament but by the fans - http://www.telegraph...n-failings.html

The minutes applause is just utterly bizarre. I wonder what Muamba thinks about all this (if he's got access to it and able to take it in).

While all the sentiments would be touching, he's probably wondering what the hell is going on? I would find it uncomfortable viewing if I was recovering in my hospital bed watching the build up on tv and seeing everyone reacting as though I was dead ... probably while some poor bugger in the bed next to you is on death's door and can't even muster a visitor.

I find the whole thing absurd.

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
