The saddest thing, i've ever seen-

I saw that around by some tents in the Pyramid field. I made a point of saying how pretentious and stupid it was rather loudly as I walked past (and I'm not one to usually be that negative). It just makes me angry that people can be so self absorbed and up themselves.

I'm not sure communist is the right term...but that's nothing these days..this year was a new low for me when I saw blue tow rope separating off not just a large portion of the field but actually wrapped around the pillars that line the path..in the middle of cordoned off area....7 completely empty fold out chairs

A few years ago in Pennards we camped next to a group who (it seemed) had a lot of brown string which they'd tied in knots, basically making it look like barbed wire! It was pretty realistic from a distance but up close more obvious. That struck me as very antisocial indeed!

Was that yellow and black striped security tape, taped round the perimeter of about 5 or 6 tents. f**king communist, anti social, annoying assholes do this kind of shit. What is the saddest thing you've ever seen?

what do they think will happen if they didn't tape off their tents? A stranger may pass through and say hello! shocking I mean who wants their festival ruining by a complete stranger popping by to say hello or worst still sitting with you

Did anyone else see the entirely taped off bit at the bottom of Pennards this year? They even had a little walk way welcoming you and must have had 12ish tents inside complete with cookers set up etc. Not only was it antisocial but it also meant that if you wanted to get past them to get up to your tents you had to take an almighty detour, as happened to me during the Pulp set

I may or may not have taken scissors to the taped areas in Row Mead....

Almost all the front tents had it, how the hell is anyone surposed to leave the campsite otherwise?! Any which may or may not have been left by the scissors I made a point of walking straight through. Made a point of saying hello despite the shitty looks and hoped they learned that it's not that bad being friendly.

That said, and I still have no sympathy, but I wish people would take more care around tents - mine had about half a meter round all sides and the guylines were pitched 5cm from the tent edge (eg, not sticking out even slightly), and in broad daylight people were still trampling all over it!

Saddest thing I saw was waiting to see who the special guest was in the dance field om thursday, was hoping for something brilliant with all the big special guest rumours flying around, then it was kesha apparently it was widely known beforehand I just wish there was 100ft letters saying "dont bother - its kesha"

I wont ever get that time she wasted, she was late aswell... Glastonbury time is too precious to be waiting on kesha..

I actually don't think the taping off is quite as bad as it used to be. Seemed to reach epidemic proportions around 2002-2005 along with availability of cheap gazeebos. But now that there are fewer people back at camp overnight, instead opting for a night in the SE naughty corner, and the camp sites are fairly rammed and there's fewer fires, the taped off communual spot seems to be somewhat in decline.

Got insane one year - possibly 2003 - came back to my tent to find something resembling a f**king spider web knitting all the tents together, running between tent poles, including mine - and I don't even know anyone around me!

    • 1. Baby Dave - Billy 2. A - Prang   Not really got round to listening to many more in May so not really fair to vote but shoutout to EPs from Bleech 9:3 - Bleech 9:3 & Villanelle - Measly Means
    • Guitarricadelafuente was bloody brilliant tonight. This is going to be a very Spanish focussed year for me. Rusowsky dragging out Las Ketchup on Saturday has the potential to be a Prima magic moment.
    • £112 for standard entry. No thank you.
    • Meanwhile Gracie Abrams is £92 for the cheapest with the average price around £160 for lower tier and £103 standing.   First time in a while I've gone from a definite yes to a definite no on price alone.   Amble was £31 this morning.
