Just to put another spanner in the works with the Stones, could one of the reasons they are stalling on Signing the deal be being shown live on the BBC?

They have just charged people £10 or so to watch their gig live on sky box office so I cant imagine they will be that happy letting people watch the same set they will be playing for the next year for free on the BBC.

Dont know if its part of the stipulation that they have to be on TV but if it wasnt then the idea that they would take a pay cut because sales would increase wouldnt work because they wouldnt be getting the exposure on TV.

The more I think about it the more I recon they wont be there.

Monkeys, Pulp, Gaga looks a tad bland to me. i like all three acts (love Pulp) but even then Arctics and Pulp look like somewhat weaker headliners (Arctics because they're the old predictable, and Pulp because... maybe it's because they had to co-headline at Reading/Leeds and subbed at other festivals. just seem a tad weak)

if your gonna steal off my twitter at least put the whole thing in properly

@@dan05delaney

and its true, its up there with one direction or Justin Trousersnake to headline... the guy couldn't sell out a gig in Blackpool... aye roll him out in the "legends" set for a sing along but if he headlines i'll be somewhere else

Woaw there Dan! Elton john comparable to Justin timberlake and one direction. Wash your mouth out son. He did some shite in the 80s but so did most acts that were around before. Madman across the water for example is a great album. Like his music or not, at least he's not just a marketing exercise.

I know it's all great to say "A Band that no one has noticed"... but there aren't alot of people around at the time that aren't

a) Touring overseas

b ) Booked to other festivals

c) Not doing festivals.

It will most likely be who they can book.

I reckon if radiohead headline the saturday, it'l be between Gaga, Mumford, Prince or maybe even blur.

Have been lucky enough to have had a copy of the new Biffy Clyro album this week, after a fair few plays I must say how impressive it is (I had my reservations when the words 'double album' where mentioned) but it is a great piece of work. Now although I'm aware Only Revolutions was not to everyone's taste it does tick the big sing along box that seems to be a popular requirement for the Pyramid/BBC audience and as other fans will know they have a very strong back catalogue too, unlike Mumfords who seem to be mentioned fairly often. I don't see why they couldn't make the Glastonbury step up (by all accounts a good headliner at sonisphere a few years back). I know Neil has hinted at R&L headline slots but as nothing has been announced yet I don't see why these guys are not being considered for a slot .... Your thoughts??

In relevance to headlining as a current popular act or a world dominating act currently at the top of their game i.e. U2, I'm saying the outcry and reaction would probably be the same if any of them three were announced as headliner, I was not comparing the 3 against each other musically, Elton has had some incredible songs/albums.

yeah I would rather make a comment on my personal space as it was not relevant to a discussion on here, the fact I would rather mention it on there is because the posts on here are just daft recently, and so what if people such as the person mentioned interact with me, it isn't a crime is it?... over the past few years they have actually given out some great information and are a great laugh, I would thoroughly recommend following them.

and deserving of what? headlining or getting a clip round the ear? headling who I think could headline and who I think will headline are 2 different things,I think atm It will probably be Arctic Monkies Rolling Stones, and a 3rd band we haven't mentioned yet that comes from the middle of nowhere

Does anyone think we're going to see a headliner announced (or even a few lower down?) Before final pay day? It's getting hard to convince my first timers that it will all work out. If they drop out, I'll be going alone :(
Glastonbury will announce when they want to announce.

They've announced in June before now, so there's absolutely no guarantee of an announcement coming before the tickets need paying up.

If all they're interested in is the headliners then I'd suggest that they buy gig tickets to see the mega bands that they want to see. There's over 50 stages of music at Glastonbury, and anyone who can't find something they'd like to see on any of those stages at any point of the day really does need a thorough music tastes examination.
