A band that headlined Reading in 08, Sonisphere 09, Sonisphere 11 and now Download 12 due to bringing their tour forward a year, they have over done it and really do need to go away for a while.

A band who's frontman can't handle a full headlining set anymore, can barely talk and stage show consists of barely being able to pull down his trousers and throwing a bucket of water, whilst shouting "Come On". The general public only really know 2-3 songs and judging by their show, 6 years ago, was extremely boring.

and the last band who have headlined the 2nd stage every year up until now, are headlining due to Copping blowing his load on the other 2 headliners.

Yeah awesome.

Compared to what soni has rumoured, yes, it is. :D

Also, at least Prodigy have headlined before. 2nd stage or not, more than biffy fucking clyro did. you know your in trouble when the organisers start talking about giving the smaller bands a break because they can't book enough actual headliners. ;)

Big enough to headline sonisphere, Sure. Or Wakestock. :P

Other than that they're more a support act.

(Soni rumours I've seen so far have been Green Day, Kiss, Soundgarden, Van halen.)

Sweden Rock Festival Van Halen will NOT tour in Europe this summer

I'm guessing that's info they have as a result of trying to book them.

There's quite a few angles around that which could lead to it being completely wrong - the main one being that agent's will often spout any old shite to people who approach them to book an act. Sat where I am I get to hear loads of them all the time.

That's not me saying that's definitely wrong. But it might be.

I think people need to calm down a bit over the dl/soni rivalry, particularly since soni have announced fuck all so far.

I await with baited breath the soni announcement as I am going again- and probably giving dl a miss due to not enjoying last year. The weather was fucking dreadful - not the organisers fault obviously- but a fucking drag none the less!

Both fests have their merits, and both have their faults.

Does anyone actually have a clue who the headliners will be or are we just guessing at this stage?

Seems odd that no really solid rumours are out there. Either Sonisphere are doing a great job of keeping it under wraps or they haven't bloody booked anyone yet.

That Scuzz thing the other night was a joke too.

I'm still going to both Download and Sonisphere but I want to know what I'm paying for dammit!

    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
